>try latest Ubuntu LTS
>turns out to be unstable piece of shit

I'm going back to OpenSUSE Leap, this is unacceptable Canonical making LTS release unstable as fuck.

I use CentOS but you're still a retard. Everyone knows you wait for the .1 release of the LTS before upgrading.

Not really.

yes, this is why I never recommend linux to normies is because Mint and Ubuntu are both unstable piles of shit, and the other distros are too difficult to get started with.

honestly Fedora would be the unquestioned best distro if it didn't require RPMFusion to get basic codecs installed
>>
>>54311687
fedora is shit

Ubuntu 16.04 is amazing for me. Everything, everything fucking works out of the box. Also, it looks gorgeous with Numix and Arc-Darker. Go kek yourself.

I swear I saw this thread just yesterday and I replied with what are you having problems with? Because I have none on 16.04.
>>

I left and took the plunge into arch and im lovin it.

The hardest part about arch is not maintaining it but getting it installed.

Damn, you didn't have to be that savage. I was just stating my opinion.
>>
>>54312458
I was distro hopping like a nigger until I realized Ubuntu is allright. I would like Arch but then I'll need to make lots of configs again, find a good DE and a compositor which doesn't freeze my screen.
>>
>>54312851
Also, LightDM in Arch is fucking broken. If I lock my screen more than three times, it freezes. It happens with both webkit and gtk. Also webkit version is trash, lots of bugs.
>>
Am on 15.10, keep getting the message telling me I can upgrade.

Should I do it, /g/?

>>up to date gnome packages
What would make you think that? Fedora's release schedule lands it slap-dab in the middle of the GNOME development cycle every pretty much every time 3.20 will have been out for three months when Fedora 24 lands. Then two months after 3.22 will be released and Fedora users will probably be waiting until 2017 to use it.

It's great for Fedora maintainers because they're always working on the odd-numbered GNOME release and can get development time against bugs they find. But users are either forced to use a COPR or just deal with the fact they aren't using the latest stable release of their desktop.
>>
>>54310723
And just what the fuck do you mean by unstable?
>>
>>54310723
I've been having a lot of problems with Xubuntu 16.04 on my X220. Freezes and Wi-Fi problems, mostly. I've been thinking of using Debian stable, but I really can't decide whether I value stability or up to date packages more.

I really wish I didn't have to log out and then ba k in again for applications to show up in the lens
