Why haven't you abandoned GTK yet?

Perhaps because it is the superior way to handle decoration.

Better desktop environment

No gimp tool kitty, no gimpy.
>>
>>54310525
Why blame gimp tool kit for no icon preview in file picker, when gimp has had icon view in it's file picker since forever?
>>
but i did

Because the GTK Python bindings are an absolute joy to use.

I did a few months ago.

KDE and Qt are the future

lolno
>>

KDE is the only hope, no other DE comes close enough in terms of features, customizability and aesthetics
>>
>>54312774
>aesthetics
It looks like shit though. It's also unstable as fuck.
I also still don't know how Qt and KDE theming works. in xfce I just set a gtk and a wm theme, nice and easy.
>>
>>54312808
Yeah, works with nice screen tearing

KDE is unstable for you because you have shit GPU or your driver is crap.

Early releases of plasma 5 was glitchy because of new technology though. It is quite stable these days

It doesn't tear for me, it's an incredibly easy fix.

KDE is massively bloated compared to MATE.

No you don't. just force it in your xorg.conf.

Even so, apparently that KDE fag is all about customization, so swapping out the compisotor shouldn't be a problem for him.
>>

Arch.

You are a retard.
>>
>>54313261
Well I kinda agree to >>54313502. Arch was surprisingly more smooth than any distro I installed. KDE on Kubuntu was a nightmare and OpenSUSE was meh.
>>
>>54313539
That's because Arch is a good distro and only trolls or uninformed people (or badly informed people) really disagree.
>>
>>54313261
Debian unstable

>>54313555
It's just one fedora/RHEL user posting memes for the past couple of weeks repeatedly.

As it appears prajeets have appointed him to volunteer shitposting in /g/. See >>54312800

>>54313609
Disgusting. I wish mods would ban retards like this. He just stirs up trouble for the sake of it, there's not even any real arguments or discussion going on.
>>
>>54310525
Because Qt has nothing comparable to Vala. Nothing as well supported, anyway.
>>
>>54313765
Why would you want to use vala?
>>
>>54310525
Because no distributor can configure a Qt based desktop for whatever reason.

kek

>>
>>54313795
It's almost C# (I think the last versions support even async etc), but at the same time it is compiled to binaries and starts fast unlike a VM, but at the same time it's actually supported by GTK/Gnome.
The only bindings to other languages from the moc infested C++ Qt supports more or less are JS (shit tier) and Python (shit tier for actual applications).
>>
Haven't use GTK for any of my projects for years. Abandoned that pile of shit long ago. Wish everyone else would too.

I personally like GTK+3. It's pretty, works well, and has bindings for a ton of languages via gobject introspection.
