>this fucking button
Holy fucking shit, what retard designed this shit? They are 50% of the time so loose you can't put it in without locking the shit.
This is Apple Pencil tier retardation.
>>54309328
you just now found this out?
>>54309328
If only they made a new updated SD card standard without that switch. Maybe also make it more compact. A "micro" SD card if you will.
>>54309353
Course not. But I just had to get up my ass and search for an adapter that is tight enough to I can copy files on it. Thought I'd make a rage thread.
>>54309376
Which laptop has micro SD slot, edgelord?
>>54309411
A d a p t e r s
>>54309328
Just take a razor and shave it down retard.
>>54309433
It's the fucking adapter I have a problem with, retard.
>>54309411
Surface pro 3 does
>>54309593
I mean actual devices that people use. Fuck off pajeet.
>>54309621
u mad bro?
>>54309621
>so fahnney maymays xD
>>54309523
Buy a new one for 99 cents? If your shit is fucking up then it's broken. I've been using a microSD to SD adapter for years and never even noticed there was a lock switch on it.
>>54309328
>They are 50% of the time so loose
stop buying low quality shit
>not just supergluing in in the off position
You know that there's no switch in the card itself, right?
so what's the meme with the lock switch
what's its purpose
>>54309776
It's a switch
If you slide it on the lock position, some card readers don't let you accidentally delete shit
You know, just like the switches on floppies and tapes
>>54309328
>i have sausage fingers
>>54309806
seems pretty redundant to me but whatever
>>54309748
This. Wept
>>54309876
It's probably only useful to a small percentage of people such as people who use these cards to store authentication credentials. My guess is they included it in the standard just for that purpose and now we are stuck with them because you can't call it "SD" unless it meets specifications.

What that key does anyway? Whenever I press it nothing happens - it doesn't lock scrolling or clock keyboard.
>>54310262
I actually like to use it to ensure that the computer I insert them into doesn't write viruses to my card.
Of course, SD card readers can just ignore the switch, but if we assume that the card reader is not malicious (only the malware on the OS), then it should be fine.
>>54312870
Look it up faggot.
It has no use in modern OS's.
>>54309328
OP, have you tried not being a disgusting fat greasy piece of shit who only buys low quality shit?
>>54312995
>>54312870
so why the fug is it around in modern keyboards like a novatouch TKL
>>54312995
You can use it in Excel (only tested in 2010) to scroll the page without changing the selected cell.
Admittedly, not a very important feature
>>54309328
I've never had a problem with the write lock.
Maybe like Apple stuff, you're just to dumb to even handle that.
