What's /g/'s opinion on EDC Gunner?

His collection makes me suspect he posts in these threads.

Have you seen it in person? I was torn between the Milgauss and the Explorer (i hate crown guards) and went to my local AD to check them out.

After trying out both, I decided to get the Explorer. The Milgauss is very heavy, presumably because of the anti-magnetic case and I felt the colors were too funky. For some reason the Explorer really grew on me while the Milgauss just seemed more like a memewatch.
>>
>>54306643
A literal who.
>>
>>54306659
Protip: they're both memewatches
>>
if I don't wear my watches loose they tend to dig into my hand whenever I flex in the slightest, are you guys just a bunch of limp wrist faggots or something?
>>
Wearing a watch in 2016 is by definition autistic.
>>
>>54306659
Yeah, I've seen and worn both as well.
I helped my father out when he decided he wanted a watch (and of course he wanted a Rolex).
I didn't really notice the weight. They're like 25grams in between each other. It felt as heavy as any other watch with bracelet.
The funky colors are what I really like. It's a great everyday watch in my opinion. For classier event I'd wear a dress watch anyway.
But damn, I also do like the Explorer.
>>
>>54306685
There's a difference in wearing it loosely and wearing it so it fits.
You should be able to fit a finger between the bracelet and your wrist, but only barely.
>>
>>54306664

Relax, why so salty?
Your butthurt response is the only post that radiates blatant autism.
I'm just asking here if you guys know him and what do you think about his collection. I just like his videos, it's not like I worship him.
>>
>>54306789
That's kind of cool, you guys can get a father-son thing going on. What's currently in your collection?
>>
>>54306786

The green crystal was fun and mysterious for a couple of months. These days I'm sick of looking at it, even in jpeg form.
>>
>>54306769
As the guy who wrote 'literally who', I'd like to weigh in I just genuinely didn't know who he was.
I wasn't implying that the gentleman was an autist. Because frankly there's nothing autistic at all about watching watch reviews if you're interested in watches.
>>
>>54306848
>you guys can get a father-son thing going on.
Haha, that sounds cheesy as fuck.

>What's currently in your collection?
Not a lot interesting pieces, unfortunately.
I'm the guy who once in a while posts his Maison Celadon peacock.
I have that, an Omega Geneve from '74, a Seiko 5 Sport (SNZG11K1), a Obris Morgan Memexplorer 2 and well.. the clown watch.

That's a fairy diverse collection. The Maison is a stunner and a very interesting piece. Orbis Morgan seems nice but they're all fuckhuge.

Mine isn't much better frankly. I've had many watches before but now consolidated down to the short hand memexplorer, junghans max bill and an alba (seiko) quartz field watch. Pic related from Seiya.

Currently looking at pilot watches. Really tempted to get an iwc mark xv. The new ones are nice but I don't feel like spending so much on a eta/sellita. Plus richemont is a huge jew.
>>
>>54307131
>Alba quartz field watch

How much have you paid for it? I've seen them going for 70€ + 20€ shipping from Japan, which I think is not justified for what it is. It is a cool piece though.
>>
>>54307131
>Junghans Max Bill
I really like that watch. Is it the automatic version you've got?

>IWC Mark XV
Great watch, I think it would dress every collection up a bit!
>>
>>54307181
I bought it for about 60 usd + 40 usd for that exact same expandable bracelet. They're both Titanium and are extremely light. The band pulled quite a bit of hair initially but is extremely comfortable now that I've worn it a few times. A nice piece for when I go cycling or hiking.

I never thought much about the price considering my top contender for a field beater watch is the Seiko SBCA001 which was discontinued and listed from anywhere between 140-200USD.

>>54307234
The automatic white face version. That was actually my first mechanical. I have a soft spot for it. The acrylic is all scratched up and I never bothered to go get it polished that's why I never post it.
>>
>>54307369
Oh I ordered from seiya, so prices are probably a bit more expensive than normal but he helped me source that bracelet and offered good service/"free shipping".

It's still handy for scheduling, much easier to silence a wrist alarm than a phone one.

Look in all the dictionaries.

There is no word for what we do.

It's not 'tradition', though our craft is timeless.

'Limitless' is too limiting.

'Enduring' is not enduring enough.

'Innovation' can only begin to describe it.

We sculpt, paint and explore.

But explorers, sculptors, and painters we are not.

This is the only thing we make.

The only thing we will ever make.

There is no word for what we do.

There is only a way.

The Rolex Way.

Find out more at www.rolex.com or your local Rolex authorized dealer.

The BB is good looking, but not much of a conversation piece. In fact, a Vostok Amphibia has a much more interesting history and design.

1. The watches you're referring to are resin not plastic, they look new much longer than steel and are much more shock resistant
2. They make many metal watches, from the MDV divers to the Lineage and Oceanus lines.
The Lineage watches come in either SS or titanium, and the oceanus line is all Titanium Carbide titanium, both case and bracelet. Impossible to scratch unless you try really fucking hard.

Yeah well, it would suck to take the watch to a watchmaker just after buying it, considering it wasn't especially a bargain in this case. I just wanted a used blue dial one and paid 90€ when I could have probably got a black one in a better for maybe even 20€ less.
I live in Germany and here watchmakers charge a lot for any simple shit, and I guess that if they remove the glas to fix the issue they will want to check the water resistance after, which would probably increase the cost of his service.

Wanna cry a little desu.

I've already walked to all the local runestones and ruins around here, and pretty much all roads are just one way, so it gets a bit boring walking the same route every time.

It was either on the Seiya product page or WUS, I'll try to find it when I get home are, but then again they're just the standard SS. I have no idea how Casio will use TiC on a 500$ watch but Rolex won't do it on an 8000$ watch.

You gotta go a bit nuts to get noticed anon, gotta follow the Trump example.

>>
>>54309243

>>54309220

>>
>>54309157
It technically isn't, you get a seiko 4r movement for less than half of what an SKX costs.
However, you're essentially wearing a fake Rolex, and they have to stamp INVICTA on everything to stop chinks from gutting the case and making a fake.
Not even shilling, but I would say an MDV106 is a better watch to buy, or save up a bit for an SKX.
>>54309171
Titanium scratches a bit easier than SS (much easier to buff out scratches though). TiC treatment gives it a hardness of 9.5. It would actually be easier to scratch the sapphire crystal than the case or bracelet on an Oceanus.
>>54309191
Are you referring to Diashield? To my knowledge it's slightly worse than what Sinn uses, and that's slightly worse than TiC
Don't quote me on that though.
It's important to note though, that Seiko and Casio offer these high end alloys and treatments for less than a fraction of what Omega charges for a Titanium-5 alloy watch.

I live close to that building in Geneva. It's a fucking shitfestival, but most importantly they only hire french workers, known as "frontaliers" around here, which are basically your average mexican niggers accepting to work for way less than natives so companies like Rolex can bankroll and make profit out of salarial dumping.

the seller says it's perfectly working, he just point out in the description that he can't guarantee its perfect function in the middle/long term but I guess that's a redundant statement if you are selling a vintage watch anyway.
I'm just willing to spend 100-120€ and 20h are left so it could still double its price, I will set the sniping for 120€ though.

Sub 150 euros shipped is a decent price for it. The 8110A movement is definitely worth the price. High beat and more robust that the Seiko 6139/6138.

Would be worth a bit more if it was the white or black dial.

the only upgrade from a F91W is a solar atomic watch, because the battery will last longer and it will be accurate as long as it receives signal. Not necessarily pic related, but you get the idea.

Out of those three the tudor looks best imo.

Just picked this up at a garage sale for $20, cause there's no guarantee that it works.

I have a 5 (beater) and 2 SARBs that I love, but I don't know shit about Seiko Quartz.
Anyone help me out? Did I do good? Worth anything? Proper care for a quartz? Any info would be good.

Not even a penisquartz huh.

Seems to be a simple Seiko quartz from the 80's or 90's, 20$ is about as much as it is worth.

They should be around that yeah, with bracelet. Same price for the Ray which looks better because of the retarded bezel font on the Mako.
