Did we do it, /g/?
Did we yell and scream at Nintendom enough to where they're finally listening and making the NX as close to a desktop as possible?
>inb4 /v/
It's more about the possibility of the Zen in the NX than videogames, so fuck off.

That might explain why the NX is being delayed to 2017. But if a Zen 4-8-core APU with DDR4 memory delivers the performance everyone expects it to, then it will be hilarious for Nintendo to be the performance king among consoles.

>all the new consoles are just custom desktops with less serviceability
>>54305829
It was inevitable since the original Xbox. Anything else is excess work with minimal performance gains
>>54306003
I know it was inevitable, it still sucks though.

Yeah kinda does, it was a nice area for atypical hardware. I remember the PS3's cell processor was actually capable of bitcoin mining back in the day. Ran at like 25 million hashes / second. Not comparable to GPUs but beat out all the CPUs of the day

Not just custom desktops. Underpowered, overpriced custom desktops. With locked down hardware. But you get a few exclusives that they paid out the nose to keep that way. Yay.

That's why the Air Force bought so many of them and ran them as a supercomputing cluster, until Sony took away the ability to install third-party software on them.
