I'm in for r9 390 but not in hurry.
I want it over 970 cuz freesynz.
Shall I wait for new cards this Q?
Can I expect something interesting in this spot from nvidia?

Both AMD and Nvidia will be releasing new cards at this price point in the next couple of months. Roy Taylor confirmed a few days ago that the Polaris cards being launched will be aiming at this upper mid-range segment and VR.

AMD are going to release their new cards in a month or so. Their new flagship is going to offer Fury X performance at 390(X) prices.
Nvidia won't have anything in the near future. They cocked up their manufacturing. Expect the new Nvidia cards in six months at the earliest.
Just wait. This time.... Just wait. Worst thing to do is drop ~300 on a card only for new ones to come out just a little ways away. Don't be like me who spent 200 on a 780 just to get back to gaming. Now I won't be able to upgrade for a year or two(both gpu and monitor).

Nvidia is showing GTX 1070 and 1080 to a reduced press group in 1 (one) week, and presenting the cards in May 30th at Computex. New cards from Nvidia will be sooner than expected, and I assume the reason is that they are scared of Polaris, for reasons as performance per watt and price per die.
Anyway, waiting till the end of May is the only reasonable option.
Never go AMD if you buy something.
If windows, get AMD. If Linux, get nvidia, unless AMD hurry the fuck up with amdgpu.

So with the new cards coming out will there be newer cards in the $400-$600 range coming out in the next few months? Because I was looking at getting a gtx 970 or 980 but if I can spend the same money for a gtx 980ti for example in a month or 2 I'll just wait
