When connecting my laptop to a vga monitor, would there be a difference in quaity between using a hdmi to vga adapter and a usb to vga adaptor? (Obviously my laptop doesn't have vga slot)

literally noone ever replies to my questions in the stupid questions thread. I asked this in the last one
>hdmi to vga adapter
fast but quality sucks (good for games)
>usb to vga adaptor
better quality but slow (bad for games)

its just for web browsing. thats perfect it means i can use a usb port for screen keyboard and mouse and just have one thing to plug in

Be wary! I have >pic related and you need USB3 or else you are limited to 800x600 and lower color depth (it's not 24-bit, but neither it's 256 colors).

both suck.

maybe il just stick with an hdmi one then. thanks for the warning

It's because you could just google VGA vs HDMI and get an answer, it's not that hard. VGA is analogue, there is a definite downgrade compared to DVI or HDMI.
Isn't USB digital and VGA analog? How does that work?

there is a small graphics chip and DAC inside of the adapter
>>54306757
Must be pretty shit quality though, no?
>>54306768
Of course it's shit. You would only use this adapter if you had literally no other choice. Better than nothing.

I'd pick an hdmi converter. Hdmi is a video interface, USB is not (although it can sort of work that way), so go for the most natural route.
