I have no idea how to use /g/ but I need some help with this thing. It's a Tascam Portastudio 414. Everything works except for the fact the cassettes are sped up and distorted. Anybody able to fix this?

you can't play regular recorded tapes in that. it wasn't meant to be a prerecorded tape player.

This. Also the tapes that have been recorded with it, aren't ment to be played in a normal deck.
It uses the higher tape speed to increase the quality and the 4 tracks on cassette are used as 4 individual tracks as opposed to two 2 stereo tracks.
