Torvalds' response is genuine, though it's unclear if he actually believed it was Stallman he was replying to, or if he knew it wasn't but wanted to get that rant out there anyway because he was sick of Stallman (and his supporters) talking about how GNU should be included whenever anyone talks about using Linux.
