What are some resources for learning CE and EE on my own?
I'm planning to study CS (real, pure CS, advanced algorithms, optimization, discrete and numerical math, compilers, etc), but I'm also interested in CE, I want to know how computers actually work and I figure it would be quite useful if I want to get into system programming. Also, I want to be kinda more independent, to be able to diagnose my computer problems on my own (and solve them if possible) or maybe write device drivers myself if something doesn't work. Oh yeah, I find fiddling with microcontrollers like Arduino quite fun (although I have very little experience).
At least, I want to learn assembly and to acquire some basic hardware knowledge, like how the processor works etc.
So, any textbooks or courses you recommend?
