Post your uptime

I am less then a week away from 10k uptime on my Galaxy S5. I can't wait to restart it and wonder in amazement at how fast it is again. Because it's been complete shit for months now.

Charging your phone for a few hours without touching it seems to make my phone faster, have you tried that? All the caching and stuff happens while you're charging it and when you start using it afterwards there isn't anything happening in the background.
Is "up time" short for how long it's been since you got laid?
>>54288778
>implying anyone here got laid
>>54288778
No, but there is a strong correlation between them.

That's pretty normal, usually some brief power glitch will fuck me once or twice a month. Now I have a UPS though, so I expect it to go to several months between voluntary reboots.

Nah, it's a NAT'ed IP from a mobile provider, I think.

You do ps aux |grep "TTY" - insert you tty here - then you do kill -9 its process.

It is best practice to not let the uptime get too large. Maintenance outside of the busiest work hours should happen every 6 months at least. If you're using something like chef or puppet you could possibly lower it to once a year. Its a good time for non-critical (critical patches should already be installed) patches to be applied. This is also when you use compressed air. As a last step, reboot the machine. This will verify that the machine can be rebooted without any problems. So, if you're not around or if the machine went down in the most busy part of the day... the server will be fine.
