Why is VirtualBox so slow?
>>54283738
Because you have shit hardware. Virtualbox ix fine on my machine.
VMware is free, why ever use VirtualBox?

Use qemu

Java
>>54283771
you mean kvm and xen?
>>54284160
hmm i guess so if you don't have a dedicated virtualization host.
>>54283738
you have to use a CPU that supports virtualization, and also ENABLE it

i7-4790k & some Z97 boards apparently supports full VT-D so I'm good to go on that per-requisite. Gonna try Linux host, Windows 7 guest with a GTX 970 passthrough
KVM, ESXi or Xen?
>>54284356
Literally who cares, fucking cancerous tripfag.
Go back to plebbit.
>>54283738
You probably copied your VM from another place. That makes it slow for some reason.

The VMWare you're talking about is the free version of a commercial product. Which means that it's missing features and is watered down.
Virtualbox is a full featured product with no commercial intentions. Which means it's waaay more functional.
It might be different now, but I remember trying the free VMWare program 2-3 years ago and it didn't even do basic shit like system snapshotting.
