My only screen is a 4K with Displayport, so it doesn't work. The GT 530 can output max 2K, but only via HDMI. I'll get a 2nd 4K soon with HDMI, I can use it to access that PC until I find a scrap 1280x800 monitor for free from somewhere.

Yeah,it is. For some reason,4074 and 5048 ran the best for me,though while 5048 was the genuine MS release,I have to admit that 4074 came off a torrent that had a R2_Update.exe installer. It would enable DWM,disable a lot of RAM-hog resources,and whatnot. Also,I had to install a patched explorer.exe to remove the activation shit.

If you're of the technologically minded and have a spare microcontroller laying around you can probably do similar as a homebrew solution for a little cheaper, but given the price of LED strips with the ability to control each SMD separately and the price of an arduino or similar you're probably spending about the same honestly, and this comes with software and magnetic strips and shit, so in all it's not that bad a deal.
