Arch is for losers that have way too much time on their hands
>>
It's got nothing xfce doesn't have outside of gtk3 support. At least the cunts coding cinnamon removed it from gnome but that's only a half measure to me.

That's sort of sad, though. Why no xfwm gtk3 support? The development is so slow. Are the devs democrats?

1. Install lolcat (AUR if arch)
2. change your screenfetch script to: "screenfetch | lolcat"

Why are you running the best DE with with worst theme?
>>
I've been using KDE and just installed XFCE4 as a test, and I loathe to say it but it feels much faster/smoother. Also my ram consumption dropped from 4gb to around 1gb. That sucks.

Now I have to figure out how rice XFCE

KDE if you have a beefy PC, XFCE4 if you don't or have a beefy PC but want to feel performance. I can't put it better.

Literally nothing is stopping you from using both by the way. Create your regular user, something like

user-kde and start the session with KDE. Create a user-xfce and stat the session with XFCE. You can easily try out both on your system. You can of course even use the same account, but I wouldn't recommend that -- I prefer to keep my dotfiles organized.
>>
>>54278022
You don't need a beefy PC for KDE, only a half way decent hard drive or an SSD.
>>
>>54278050
Well beefy by my standards I guess. Just make sure you have more than 4GB of RAM.
>>
>>54278056
What kind of PC do you have anon that makes you consider 4gb of RAM beefy.
>>
>>54278091
One with 6gb of RAM. Even that sounds like quite a bit to me, but I see people here with 32gb regularly.
>>
>>54278111
I was just thinking about picking up 32gb more of RAM because it's so cheap right now. Would bring my total to about 48gb.
>>
>>54278282
that sounds awesome. I would use it mainly for virtual machines I suppose and running quite a few apps without ever closing them.

I really want to set up a virtual machine with hardware passthrough and then run some Windows in it. I would have the, in my opinion, ultimate system: I can play pretty much any game I want with full performance sandboxed in a virtual machine and have my real Arch Linux system hosting it.
>>
>>54278313
I was thinking about doing the same actually. I just have to wait for my other monitor to arrive tomorrow before I can test it out.

Then don't use Arch for the rice. Arch is a good operating system, despite what trolls on this board say.
