So /g/ which laptops are sold with the least amount of bloatware or raw windows installations or do you always do a fresh install no matter who it's from?

Who do you believe currently sells the best laptops and what are you using now?

Thinkpas T420

Sold by a local store that has amazing prices on refurbished workstations and laptops, monitors, etc.
>>
>>54272166

What kind of prices? I usually check out the Microcenter refurbs but it seems like it's never good stuff because whoever purchased the initial laptop bought a stupid model.
>>
Has anyone checked out the acer travelmates that look like thinkpad rip offs yet?
>>
Man I'd love to get another laptop (I haven't bought one since like 2006) but I swear every time I look at them at stores the specs per price are fucking horrendous like more so than what they used to be you can't find a decent i5 system for like under $500 which is just retarded.
>>
>>54272275

>decent i5 system

What does that even mean? The first "i5" Intel CPU were Lynnfield i5 7xx, released in 2009. It's 2016 and there have been plenty of updates in the "i5" group since then.
>>
>>54272419

I'm saying like a decent model offered by a company that has an i5 processor as part of the model. Most laptops under $500 have a shitty i3 in them. Or companies seem to be really fucking slow at upgrading to the last intel i5 architecture and still try to sell 1-2 year old chips in their newest models.

eBay has used models going for less than $300AUD. Probably be significantly cheaper in the US.

Business laptops. Thinkpads, elitebooks, latitudes, and such.

Thinkpads are not aesthetic. Functional yes aesthetic no.

Especially that one.
>>
>>54272936
Epic.
>>
>>54272948
Nigga it's A E S T H E T I C as fuck. OP didn't ask about which laptop is the most aesthetic though. He asked which ones are sold with the least bloatware, which would be business laptops general.
>>
>>54272856

Yes that's disgusting
>>
>>54272983
Agree to disagree on aesthetics. But you're right about business class laptops being the least bloated. I was directly replying to the guy who asked "does this disgust you?" and simply informed him that posting his clunky looking thinkpad will not visually impress anyone. Most people (myself included) prefer the aesthetics of a macbook or dell XP13
>>
>>54273242
It's not the aesthetics that are disgusting, it's all the pubes and grease and shit that doesn't belong to you
>>
>>54273277

Tru dat

Think of the average shitposters house and that's where your gross ass used laptop is coming from fuck that.

Anyone know of a decent laptop that's got a nice keyboard with an i5 for programming in unity on?

The Thinkpad developed it's own niche aesthetic. The simple business black box is very appealing to me
>>
What laptop should one buy for Linux?

I need a top-of-the-line processor for programming, could use a GPU too but no real requirements. Plenty of storage. Good screen and comfortable keyboard would be nice.

Whenever I start looking for this stuff I arrive at Clevo/Sager's gaming laptops.

Any "signature edition" laptop from the Microsoft Store comes with a minimal amount of bloatware.

inb4 rajeet. Literally the only example with PCs I can think of with the manufacturers reluctantly agreeing to not load Norton MegaMax AntiVirus 20XX Platinum plus 200 FREE GAMES on their laptops, besides business laptops (which still come with a fair amount of "feature" bloat) and Macs.
>>
>>54274983

Which one is this?
>>
>>54276277

I really hate that laptops automatically come with bloatware x1200.

I can't believe a company hasn't come out that's just straight hardware for the raw price it takes them to make a profit to sell to businesses and nerds the profit would be huge as fuck.

>business version
>just a raw machine you can install your companies image on ready to go
>nerd version just OEM windows or linux no gimmicks

It's not like it's hard jesus.
>>
>>54274983

I also wouldn't mind knowing what model this is.
>>
>>54272153
Raw windows installation comes with bloat. You need enterprise windows so look at bussiness laptops. Lenovo if you trust chinese otherwise Dell does that kind of thing.
>>
>>54277398

Not really oem windows is fine.
