Is e10s useable yet? Did they fix pages turning black/corrupt pages in private mode?

I've started using Nightly and it's supposed to be multi-process. But I've never seen it use more than one process.
I also don't see the point in multi-process.

Yeah, no point in running everything in a separate process.

>>add-on crashes
>>browser crashes
If an add-on/the UI crashes, multi-process won't save you.

>>tab crashes
>>browser crashes
I've never had a tab crashing. A script may slow it down, but you don't need multi-process to fix that. In fact, you don't need multi-process to fix an add-on crash either.

I'd keep using Opera if it could handle tab groups just a little bit better and keep them out of the way. It already has regexp filters for tabs and that convenient side-bar.

e10s is enabled for β channel but only of it detects no addons installed.

I'd agree with you but you see they spent most of their money not on development but on gay rights activity and other degenerate shit, hence bad slow browser for me and fags like you

Even if the addons are compatible? There are a few already:

yeah you can force enable it though

browser.tabs.remote.autostart - true

extensions.e10sBlocksEnabling - false

You literally can't watch Youtube. This is what happens when you let sjws tell you get "diversity" hires.

It doesn't automatically adjust the amount of processes yet, you have to specify a minimum amount in dom.ipc.processCount. It does properly recycle processes as you open and close tabs.
>>
>>54240837
placebo
>>
>>54240906
It's very easy to notice the difference, since something blocking on one tab doesn't hold up the rendering on every other tab. If you're just on one extra process, the UI will be responsive while a tab is blocking, but other tabs will not continue rendering, etc. until the blocking tab is finished.
>>
>>54240837
how do i decide an appropiate minimum for process count?

100

what? you don't open shitton of tabs when you fap?

Do I change the rollout setting in about:config to get e10s or is it still unavailable in 46.0?
>>
>>54241018
Probably something around the same amount as the max amount of tabs you usually have open, depending on how much memory you have. I'm at 30 myself.
>>
>>54241050
No nigga i'm really tidy when it comes to browsing, i don't need more than 20 tabs of useless shit i'll never check again.
>>
>>54241085
set it to 20 then you answered your own question
>>
>>54239023
>tab crashes

Isn't the whole point of multi-process to prevent this?
>>
>>54241085
Though I agree with that, a quick trip down one of the boorus can quickly turn into a 100 tab-adventure.

Bug 1037179 - Loading many (30–60) tabs simultaneously takes almost 2x longer with e10s

Through dick, unity.
>>
>>54237929

I've installed freshly released Firefox 46 and force-enabled e10s. So far no problems (except higher memory usage which was expected). Even addons that supposedly don't work as reported on arewee10syet.com work fine for me.

Does that mean that Firefox is the new Windows of the internet browser world? Hacking together workarounds to get legacy stuff to work on the newest versions?

also why didn't mozilla just made JS patching available right from the get-go
>>
>>54241349

browser.tabs.remote.autostart;true
browser.tabs.remote.force-enable;true
extensions.e10sBlockedByAddons;false
extensions.e10sBlocksEnabling;false
accessibility.force_disabled;1

Fuck the system.

browser.tabs.remote.autostart;true and extensions.e10sBlockedByAddons;false
already enables it, what other setting do exactly?

It was
>Multiprocess Windows 0/1 (Enabled by user)
for me until I added browser.tabs.remote.force-enable;true.

hmm maybe it's v46 specific

dude, why the actual fuck do you need to using fucking regex to go through your tabs? do you keep 1000 tabs open at once?
and i thought my 30 tabs were bad...

Mozilla's bug-ridden, eternally-delayed piece of shit implementation of multi-process.
