Anyone got a Pandora or something similar? I am looking for a handheld, that can play Civ2 + 3 and emulate NES/SNES/PS1. Pyra looks promising too, but it's not out yet.
GPD XD is good for emulating old consoles and looks great, but it seems to be a little weak. Although review videos looked good.

Well looks like none of you fucks have ever even touched one.
it's basically an android devices with hardware controls and some free emulators preinstalled. The hardware controls are decent. The L3/R3 buttons suck if you actually need to use them since many games use it for aiming or ducking or whatever while you're already using that stick. You probably won't play games that use them though. The emulators are whatever you want to download. Sounds is meh. Screen is adequate.
Main issue is that it's huge and I already have a phone in my pocket. Personally I'd rather carry a New 3DS with recent games. I'd REALLY rather have that control pad that could attach to my current phone so that I don't have to carry around a huge brick of a console but there's no decent solution for that

especially get one if you like hardware mods. You can remove the UMD slot and use the space for batteries, wire the USB to always charge, swap the mini USB for your choice of micro USB / USB C / other hipster connector. Fun stuff.
The only thing I think the GPD does a little better is the joystick. It's an actual joystick, not a slider. There's probably a hardware mod for that too though

It's a UMPC you fools, of course it won't be able to play crysis 3 on max settings.
It scores ~1,700 on multi-core passmark so it should be able to play 1080p VP9 youtube streams just fine. It should also be able to run most emulators just fine as well. Hell Half life 2 might run at 20-30fps in low 480p settings on it.
But the point is you will be able to use it like a laptop replacement and stream vydias on it.
