I'm an Apple user but there's no way to defend this shit, even $0.10 chink cables are better than this utter shit.
>>
At least it didn't fry your iShit like those chink type C cables can.
>>
>>54229064
Applefag here - whoever designed these cables should be shot, and the corpse fired.

And this is jobs-era shit. No excuse.
>>
That looks like you took an axe to it, not to defend Apple but it's not like it was a spontaneous failure, right?
>>
>>54229081
What may fry your device is chink energy bricks, cables can't damage your device.

Happened to me too. The older connector though, I think they still use the same rubber or whatever that material is.
>>

If you use it like a normal cable, it will literally melt after 1 year. If you treat it like a baby maybe it will last more.

OP here, that's how I'm preventing my other cables from shiting itself.
>>

>electrical tape
>for alleviating structural stress
>>
that is a damn shame op. I am apple certified and if it broke right at the cable relief and it was still in warranty it would a free replace.
>>
>>54229064
I have a cable with one of those standard stress relief things that cracked. I just put some hot glue reinforcement over it.
>>
>>54229064
>even $0.10 chink cables are better than this utter shit.
My 30 pin cable i bought at walgreens has lasted longer than any official apple cable except the old one that came with my 4th gen ipod classic.
>>
I swear apple are getting worse with the durability of their parts, you only seem to have to look it at the wrong way and it's damaged.
>>
>>54230350
As the apple tech support forum says "You are just using it wrong."
>>
>>54229064
>he failed to upgrade his cable
:^)
>>
How did all these macfags get into a tech board? I hope there's a genocide on your kind soon.
>>
>>54229064
then stop being an apple user you fucking moron
everything about apple is overpriced and overrated
>>
I've had a shit quality samshit tablet for years and bent the fucking cable 500 goddamn different ways all the time and it's still like goddamn brand new.

How does it feel to be outdone by fucking Samshit of all companies, crApple?
>>
>>54229413
>implying
>>
>>54229107
actually, if they are wired incorrectly, like the one famous case, they can apply a inappropriate voltage where it is not expected, frying electronics.

Take any usb cable, swap the wires connecting pins 1 and 4 on the host end, and tell me that wouldn't damage anything on the downstream end.
>>
>>54230421

There are tons of third party cables anyway, also Macs are great products.

Daily reminder this only happens to people that carry their cable with them, cooling it up and putting it in pockets or bags throughout the day. This is the original cable that came with my phone, had it since November and it looks as fresh as the day I opened it. Proper use = amazing results.

the exception is when I would coil up, and take my cable with me for daily use. Magically when I stopped that, I no longer had issues like OP.
>>
>>54231487
>since November
lol dude, OP here and that picture is my 3 year old cable.

They usually start shitting itself after the warranty expires.
>>
I've had an iphone since the 3g and this has never once happened to me. Why is it so common?
>>
>>54231438
> never used an Apple trackpad

>>
>>54231545
Cables don't cost $100 anon. The worst thing about shitposters is they don't make sense

>>54231555
So it's clickbait then? A three year old cable looking like that isn't something to be so surprised about, your post made it sound like you've had that for less than a year
>>
>>54231577
>So it's clickbait then?
dude, I have 7 year old usb cables that still works.
>>
>>54231632
Maybe it's th reverse, mini and micro sub cables always shit out on me rather quickly. Either getting bent, bad solder jobs, or connector breaks.
>>
>>54231721
why do people even use this garbage when 15$ chinese shit sounds better

the original apple cable sucks, bought that thing three times in a year when i bought the iphone 5

solution is to buy one of this very long, very thick black cable

except they can, usb-c cables that dont follow the standard can do that very easily

Nokia lumia 920 cable did the same shit. Feels like similiar plastics as my wives iphone. Now we both consider Android.

To all Macfaggots who think "with propper use, it wont break", did you ever take your cables with you? think not, because if you do, they break. And these devices require power, recharging. U should consider to kill yourself.

image, old superior hardware.

Literally never happened to me and I have that cable since the iPhone 5 came out and I'm not even being overly careful or anything

maybe you should stop being a retard

Hey retard, normal people with shit to do other than masturbate to anime have to take their cables with them and want them to work for more than a year.

"B-b-but that's a three year old cable" isn't a fucking excuse. I've never had a cable of *any* sort fray except Apple chargers (multiple magsafes, 30 pins, and lightning).

So enjoy your ludicrously overpriced cable and shitty phone with bottom of the barrel components and quality control. I'm sure the "premium" feel of frayed cables and screens cracked all to shit is totally worth it.
>>
>>54231753
The same reason people us apple anything. Because other people do.
>>
The worst cable ever was on the noppoo nano keyboard.

>buy keyboard
>plug in
>ops wrong slot
>grab the cord by the shroud on the end and pull out
>shroud slides off the cord
>was barely glued on by chinks
>this is what i get for trusting them
>>
What the fuck do you faggots do with your Apple peripherals that causes this kind of shit? I literally just plug my phone in next to my bed when I go to sleep and my iPhone 4S cable still looks brand new even 5 years later.
>>
Electrical tape defends it
>>
>>54229064

Here's mine, it still works "magsafe" indeed
>>
I had the first generation Macbook once and the cable fried on that too. Of course they make the worst cables on the planet and then make them non-removable so you have to buy the whole charger. That's what I did and I regret it.

So Apple quality has never been high, so it's not lower now. This frying charger cable thing is like a decade old and still happens. I have had lots of laptops and naturally Apple was the only one which had this housefire cable.

Pic related, it's not mine but I saved it once to explain what happens. Mine fried from the other end of that same cable, next to the charger.
>>
>>54230857
My little sister did that once and I was pissed. She "fixed" a mouse and plugged it into my laptop before I could pull her away. Fried my laptop..
>>
>>54237516
this makes me feel better about mine. The sheath came apart recently

>better buy a new phone :^)
>>
>>54230857
Actually if made well it shouldn't damage anything, but manufactures like to skimp on protections. Ive connected my lg g3 with reversed polarity 5v to the usb port for a few seconds and nothing happened.
>>
>>54229097
Have you ever met an apple user? Every single one of them has a broken power cable or two. Usually held together by electrical tape. It's wierd because everything else they make looks nice.
