I have a script to facilitate the uploading of files downloaded from one tracker onto another tracker.
It creates a symbolic link to a given directory in a directory that I have allotted for files from that particular tracker.
Since rtorrent seems to have a problem with loading multiple torrents with the same files and the same directory name, my script adds a tracker tag like [whatcd] to the link directory. I do not at all like the fact that it does this.
Is there a cleaner way to do this?
Also do you reckon it's worth it to join Waffles so as to not waste what.cd buffer on Fishmans and Björk etc.?

Waffles is a good alternative, yeah. Got on there from What a while back. It's very similar to What in some ways like ratio rules, supplied content, and allowed formats. Selection is good. Community and staff seem friendlier and less autistic. The organization is nowhere near as good and whatever framework they're using isn't as good as Gazelle tho. There's a reason why What is the best music tracker.
Biggest reason I joined is as a backup for What. Def good if you want a quick download and you're watching your What ratio. Worth checking Rutracker first but if you want a guarantee of quality Waffles has that. Also they have their own freeleech content, so more music with free upload. There's bound to be some content overlap too, so you may be able to seed them to the other site

Is there any specific program I can use to rip the DVD, preferably free. Most of the ones I'm finding are one's that just convert it to MP4 or something like that.
The DVD's are the really old so they barely have copy protection I think. It actually lets me just click+drag on the DVD and on to my desktop and it copies everything, but then when I try to run the VOB files inside or play through VLC it only plays the menu and when I try to click on something else, it will play the menu exit theme but won't go to the video it's supposed to.

Ghostleeching is downloading files without taking a ratio hit (No Upload/Download Reported). You have to use a different IP for the actual downloading. Here is how it works:
1. You grab a torrent.
2. You Pause the torrent or severely limit the download speed
3. Write down all peers (IP and Port)
+++++++
On a different IP:
4. Add the torrent to your client
5. Remove the tracker (which has your passkey and identifying information)
6. Add the Peers and you are good to go!
You will now download torrents without being a member of the tracker
Note 1:
Due to DHT you can't "Add Peers" to Private torrents. You can either use a modified client (utorrent serenity) or Google "utorrent dht patcher" to remove the private flag and enable DHT
Note 2:
It looks suspicious if you add torrents, but dont complete them. So keep track of your IPs/peers and you will find some that are either "Archivers" or auto-snatch new shit. I add those by default.
Note 3:
This is a good method for "cross-seeding" Golden Popcorn torrents. Not a good method for obscure content
