I have f.lux on my desktop. Having said that - I NEED a red light filter on my ereader and tablet which dont support any f.lux.
>ipad mini 1
>kindle paperwhite

Whats the most elegant way to go about this?

Red tinted plastic wrap

Why do you need flux on those machines? They're not driven with backlights like LCD screens are.
>>
>>54211048
>I NEED a red light filter
I mean blue light filter, right? You fucking retard holy shit how can you make such a stupid mistake you motherfucker I've already reported you to the mods fuck you and your retarded brain stem holy shit.
>>
>>54211218
The light is still white and damaging for a good nights rest.
>>
>>54211048
>needing placebo technology
Didn't iOS get night shift mode already?
>>
>>54211357
apple decided not to give that really demanding technology to ipad mini 1 or iphone 4
>>
>>54211334
The white light you see should be a reflection of the light that's in the atmosphere. It's not going to affect your rest any more than shining a torch on a newspaper is going to affect your rest.
>>
>>54211482
At night it has to be reddish or else I stay awake and feel like shit next day
>>
>using proprietary software
hahaha

>>54211048

>>
iPad: jailbreak and install f.lux
paperwhite: probably impossible, the LEDs that light that screen are strictly white
>>
>>54211529
Novel idea here.
Dont use your device at night, when you are trying to go to sleep?
>>
>>54211357
regardless anon, the placebo shit works. and its free, so nothing lost
>>
>>54211673
I go to bed at 1230am. If I start reading my kindle at 11pm it interferes with my sleep.
>>
>>54211695
Don't read your Kindle at 11pm when you need to go to sleep at 12:30AM?

How does it interfere?
Beyond eye strain, there is no reason you wont sleep well. There isnt some magical boogy woogly monster that cast a fatigue spell on you when you use your devices.
>>
>>54211739
>Don't read your Kindle at 11pm when you need to go to sleep at 12:30AM?
the whole point of this thread was to get f.lux equivalent fuccboi

>How does it interfere?
it interferes because its blue light, not red filtered light. Stop being such a nigger
>>
>>54211695
get a fucking book instead and stop reading your kindle at 11 AM
put red filters on your lightbulbs too you faggot
>>
>>54211769
And exactly how does that make you sleep bad?
You dont even have a valid point.Niced buzzword too.Blue light dosent inject some magic drug via viewing. You'll have eye strain and might notice it when you wake up,but eye strain is not going to destroy your life

You're following placebo hard bro.
Its 930pm here.Im am going to go to bed at 10pm.I am not using anything to change my monitor.I will wake up at 8am feeling relaxed and refreshed. You fell for the placebo.

Seriously bro,put it on the lowest brightness and you're good to go.

The whole point of getting a kindle paperwhite 3 was so I dont have to have a huge 400+ page book in bed with me and the frontlight so I could read under any light conditions
>>
>>54211246
full retard much
>>
Op if you have a Mac you can compile f.lux for your iPad. Apple made them take down the source but the instructions are still there and the source is easy to find on github.
>>
>>54211839
LOL like you'd be able to read a 400 page book.Wouldnt the yellow pages throw off your sleep?

>gets device that spouts no light needed in sunlight
>bitches about needed light in the darkness
Nigga really?
>>
>>54211829
>And exactly how does that make you sleep bad?
It interferes with my ability to fall asleep. This has been proven. Even Apple implemented red shift Nightmode in the past weeks on their devices.

Find something else to do,lol this is fucking comical, you made my night buddy
>>

E-ink display does not interfere with your ability to fall asleep. This has been proven. Apple needs to implement Nightmode on their devices because all their devices uses LCD technology.

Its not about the ink, its about the LED lighting on the kindle which are white and not red filtered
>>
>>54211928
Is there something wrong with you? You're always getting white light, even with your shitty f.lux on. It MIGHT reduce eye strain, but if you weren't so autistically obsessed with what color light you believe your retarded fucking screens are emitted you'd have a great night's sleep anyway you fucking cocksuck retard shitgoblin.
>>
>>54211975
leave this thread, troll
>>
>>54211928
PUT A FUCKING CINNAMON CANDY WRAPPER OVER IT AND STOP BITCHING
>>
>>54211829
Not the guy you're replying to, but lights play differently on different people. Im cool with lights and all, no difference in my rest.

But my wife, if she reads her facebook feed before sleep, she'll be dead tired the day after.

Think it's some physiological effect or some shit.
>>
>>54211928
The Kindle Paperwhite does not have any LED, it does not exist.

Not op but https://www.amazon.ca/Paperwhite-Resolution-Display-Previous-Generation/dp/B007OZO03M

>Patented built-in light evenly illuminates the screen to provide the perfect reading experience in all lighting conditions

It's literally a white LED built into the screen tho

Anon, if you have access to a Mac with Xcode 7, download the source code and sign the app yourself. That's what I do with open source iOS apps. Not even jailbroken. Or you could jailbreak if you want and install like that

By signing the app myself, I'm saying that I developed the app. Meaning I can test it on my hardware. I think the certificate expires every 3 months.
