I personally dislike their Laptops and Phones but absolutely adore their media players and audio products.
>>

>>
>>54201596

Reballed Launch PS3 (60GB, but with upgraded HDD). Beefiest specs of them all, full BC with PS2 games, and a lot of BC with PS1 games.
>>
Their audio products (speakers and headphones) and phones.

The TVs are...okay.
>>
>>54202184
Their Bravia TVs were a lot more impressive a decade ago. These days, you're just paying for the name.

That said, I've got a Sony Bravia KDL-46R453A. It was a decent buy for $400.

And SOME of their audio products are great. Others are no better than beats.
>>
>>54201596
Bought this DAB+ radio yesterday and it produces an impossible amount of sound for something the size of an iPhone 4S. Their Audio division is still godly. Their bluetooth speakers aren't that much bigger but fucking hell, the sound they produce is insane, more than most Logitech 2.1 desktop systems.
They're really expensive though.

If you're willing to wait a few years, the price plummets. I got the Sony HTCT 100 for 80 bucks new in box last year. Hell of a sound bar system, even today (although it's missing some of the more modern features).
>>
>>54202308

I fucking love my A6000.
>>
>>54202270
Also here's a demo on the previous gen Sony bluetooth speaker. The current one has 24h battery life at 50% volume. Stupidly good sound quality for something not much bigger than most smartphones.

Seriously I have a 6 years old laptop, working fine as fuck, never changed any part, never took to the shop. Even the battery is still giving an hour

No clue. That said, pretty much anything Sony released up to the late 90's was bleeding edge, in my experience.

Having a 9" color TV that didn't bleed any colors was an engineering feat back then, and they pulled it off.

SXRD projectors are one of their own proprietary image technologies for which they still manufacture LSI in-house, and for a reason; top grade stuff if well tuned, practically no pixel grid visible even at low resolutions, fantastic accuracy and colour reproduction. This was truly the Trinitron's CRT substitute they should have invested on. Their rear-projection TV were sadly too short-lived.

And also if only their DPT-S1 was cheaper! I think the Mobius e-Ink display tech should be used in the future on other mass market line of products from them.

But SXRD on cinema projectors, please. The latest prosumer projectors have average quality optics.

Anyway, their PRO division is still at the top of its game, and this latest TRIMASTER EL monitor seems orgasmic on paper:

Their highend IEMs
Studio headphones for general use
Their old ereaders
The Paperwhite (if it wasn't 600USD+)

I always hear about their drawing/tablet/laptop being good alternative to surfacebook here.

Xperia Z is amazing, the old x10 mini was awesome as well.

Their headphones are alright, xb 900 and 1000 sound good.

I feel as if sony has gone down hill a lot though. Their build quality for headphones doesnt compare to a few decades ago and their tvs are average.

Playstation line is at an alltime low as well, though Im more concerned with the vita than the ps4

the ones in the picture are MDR-7550 but I'm not sure if that correlates to the renaming of the model in Asian markets

Sony is great at hardware, bad at software, and terrible when the lawyers from the media side of the company start making product decisions. Thanks for Cinavia, assholes.

So much this. NTSC used to stand for "Never The Same Color" until Sony showed all of the idiots on the market how to make a color tube TV.

Shame they have fallen so far from grace. They don't even make TVs anymore. If only they would stop sending near prototypes to the market.

VAIO Z. It was always the pinnacle of whatever was available at that time.

You wanted a slim 13" laptop that weighed as little as possible while not being dysfunctional with various ports? VAIO Z.

Needed high resolution and colour accuracy? Here's a 1920x1080 screen that was 96% Adobe RGB gamut rivalling more expensive and larger workstation laptops while other 13" laptops had shit resolution/screens.

You want an SSD in your ultraportable laptop in 2012 and feel it's too slow? RAID-0 the SSDs that gave you 3/4 the performance of PCIe SSDs nowadays.

You want more processing power in that ultraportable? Have a 3612QM.

Battery life a concern? Here's a sheet battery option for extended run time.

They even managed to incorporate an early version of Light Peak with an external graphics card dock. Maybe if Sony wasn't retarded and killed off the project so early, it might've amounted to something.

I like some of Sony's audio products, particularly this disc player which is rare as fuck. Took me a few years to get one and looks and sounds super sexy.
Once in a while they manage to launch a great product, it goes unnoticed and they stop trying. Case in point.
Original Vaio laptops made by sony were good (Purple Vaios). Then they switched to ODMs and they fucked up badly. I used my 2001 sony vaio until november last year when it really crapped the bed and started BSOD'ing like crazy.
>>
My Z3 compact and my BC PS3. Two of the most useful gadgets I've ever owned. Also, pic-related. Weird but surprisingly versatile little gadget.

I also like my Vita, even though it's woefully supported and has a bad storage scheme.

Failure rate is easy to get around. Just reball it.
>>54206319
You may notice that I stated that mine was reballed. I did it when I got a blinking red light on the PS3. Haven't had a problem since.

>>54206300
Mine isn't worth as much as yours, but it's the best TV I've ever seen at 300 bucks. It matches the look of my launch PS3 well, but there's no denying that yours looks way better, both aesthetically and on the actual screen, I'm sure.
>>
>>54205911
The Vita was built to succeed. Too bad that Sony didn't actually care if it did. Those memory card prices are downright offensive, and the custom charging port didn't lend it any favors, either.

Still, I can't deny that the OLED screen makes the PS Classic games look better than I ever would have imagined.
