Holy shit, have I been transported back in time?
>>
>>54200252
Done That, and now?
>>
>>54200425
He's joking with you. The joke is that pulseaudio is considered buggy and flaky. Unfortunately it's the default on almost every distro and it comes with the most user friendly tools. Other audio systems do work on Linux, but Pulse is the default and most user-friendly.

Jeh fine but i want my soundcard working...
>>
>>54199003
Are you using `pavucontrol` or something stupid like the GNOME/Cinnamon front-end? Chances are you need to enable the device to show up as a Pulse module, first.

Windows. Detecting drivers. Installing drivers. Works

Windows is easier to use, because it appeals to people who just want everything to work with a mouse click and don't understand what's happening behind the gui. For everything else, linux is better.

That's what you get. Just install Windows and stop wasting your time.
>>

i waste a whole day to enable a windows compatible soundcard on linux - The Thread
>>
>>54199100
Did you really just take a picture of your fucking screen?
Switch to windows anon, linux wont do shit for you
>>
>>54201220
Do people actually use alsa in 2016?
At least use JACK if you want to be a hipster.
>>
>>54203723
Most Linux users use ALSA as the kernel audio driver and run PulseAudio or other userspace audio server.
>>
>>54204745
I highly doubt that. Ubongo and mint users don't set up their audio server.
Also there's literally nothing wrong with using pulse for everything.
>>
>>54204816
How is OSS working for you?
>>
OP, this should 'just work' if you have a new enough kernel. I recommend boot to the 16.04 live CD and see if it works there. If so, you just need a newer kernel.
>>
>>54205115
Audio in linux is as simple as pacman -S pulseaudio pulseaudio-alsa
restart X or reboot and it just werks
>>
I fixed it thanks everybody!
>>
>>54205551
so, what was the fix? Did you open alsamixer and see the main output was muted?
>>
>>54205551
You took photos of your screen to share your pci device list and are telling us you fixed it all on your own?

Did you need to build a module?
>>
>>54205617
Well the problem was That i need something to give sound to see the soundcard
>>
>>54205769
Actually yes i fixed by my own, why did i take photos with my Phone because i use 4chan on my Phone :)
