Do you have any ideas for VR mobile apps?

I'm interested in working on one and i'm looking for ideas.

Detailed Auschwitz simulation proving the holocaust was nothing but Jewish lies.

Do you plan on makng profit out of it? How? Consider that ads within VR is annoying and annoyed people uninstall apps.
I have done a couple of minigames but the market is saturated already. I make like 5 dollars per month with VR and already gave up, in mobile at least.

>mfw my phone is too shit tier to do google cardboard vr
>>
real life ad-blocker
repeteadly load ad-ridden sites to generate training data for a neural network, then use it to detect ad posters and banners and replace them with a single colour that blends into the surrounding
Google probably has enough ressources and infrastructure to pull this off, but they also have the least interest in doing it

Of course you would need to carry a bigass laptop and battery with you all the time, but thats the price of freedom

Are you suggesting a VR "Kill the popups" game?
>>

poor codemonkey bastard

try hiring an idea guy off craigslist
>>
Mobile AR would be cool for installations.
>>
I bought one of them $30 chink VR headsets, should get it this week.

Any suggestion for fun things to do with it? I was thinking just watching a 3d movie for starters, but how good is the other shit?

A utility for the colorblind. Allow then to identify wich color it is they are looking at via eye tracking and audio prompts. Also perhaps allow them to Dave colors and record the hex of them.

kek, but i was thinking more of a fractal/trippy video sim

>>54197498
OP here, what have you made (not direct link but the concept-wise)?
Isn't there a non-intrusive ads guideline provided by google that is used for this i.e. show ads at the extreme unused corners or in menu's.

>>54197833
This is a cool concept, but it's very intensive in mobiles at the moment since its a lot of live image processing. We could use a database to store these ad locations (permanent billboards) and dimensions for easier blocking in the future but
it's still a long shot

>>54197923
hey i just wanna earn my bananas

>>54197939
You mean like an ikea product manual but irl it shows how it's supposed to look on your floor and you build it up fitting the parts into that hologram(?). Thats actually awesome.

>>54198096
This is nice but how do we differentiate between shades and tints of colours. But this seems like it could have some more thought on.

>>54198250
more like these pls?
>>
>>54198298
If you allow the user to input his colorblindness, then you would not have to worry about the whole color spectrum. As far as shapes of a color you could have a large pallet with 4 or so shades of each distinct color (that can be communicated via audio) and then based off of that just "round" to the nearest match. As far as shadows are concerned you might just have to tell them to make sure it's well light. You could have it voice activated; eg: "OK Google, what color is this?" So that that way the user isn't overwhelmed with useless color information.

One if my minigames is a lab for launching rockets. You watch a button and something happen. Four experiments. Minigame is done in a couple of minutes but visually is nice. UE4 based. The other is just aiming to weird spheres and you shoot missiles trying to beat your record. More simply looking but more fun.

Now, the problem with vr in mobile or mobile apps in general is: how the fuck will a user notice what you did? Two options:
-Spend thousand on marketing/reviews campains, with no warranty of seeing the money back.
-Make the game viral. Something so hard I dont even try.
-Expect luck in the search engine if the store with some languages. It happens, but changes randomly from week to week.

Good luck.

Forgot to say: no guidelines for ads if you just do not abuse (one ad per screen etc). I do not use cardboard api though, managed to use non official plugins. Pain the ass that would not repeat.
>>
>>54198392
That does help. It could be used as a utility and this seems interesting enough actually. I'm looking into it right now. Thanks.

>>54198421
>>54198397
That was simple enough actually. Haven't thought of casual games like that.

My end goal is to just be familiar with working with VR dev tools (like unity)because it looks like VR is the next big thing and i don't want to be left out. I have no real intention of making money off it but just make it as a side-project. I'm sticking with carboard apps because thats all my computer can handle developing and not those Occulus/vive intensive applications Thanks for the explanation though. :)

My friend used the Cardboard API and they said it was pretty easy to do so, ill try it out though since I've decided to use that (better unity support).

>>54198517
No problem, if you get anywhere with it post an update or so. I'd really like to have that utility.
>>
>>54197247
Real-time camera feed, and use gyro technology to warn you when you're tilting, and use arrows to direct you which way to lean to counterbalance yourself. Basically help you walk when drunk.
>>
>>54198517

I would take the "next big thing" with a pinch of salt. Soon, development with "visual programming", motion capture and photogrammetry will be so common that any moron will be able to create 3D experiences. The best way not be "left out" is to focus in really complicated/low level stuff. VR programming is neither.
>>
>>54198551
Sure will do.

>>54198729
Haha this sounds like a cool game

>>54198783
As in? What do you mean by low level? Assembly?

Augmented reality intractable character that you can touch and talk to.
It surely will sell like mad, especially if you'll add in-app shop for clothes, minigames etc.

So a chatbot with a body basically?
Or maybe real life pokemon

OK

Ah got it thanks.

>So a chatbot with a body basically?
>Or maybe real life pokemon
Not really, I was thinking about apps like Barcode Kanojo where you can create/get a girl and do stuff with her. In AR it would be much more immersive. Chat bot functionality might be nice, but I was rather thinking about pre programmed commands and conversations.

True. but is there a version where you can play the pilot?
Or maybe the demolition team that brought the buildings down?

VR DND maps. DM can pick maptiles in a non-VR mode and place character models and the players view it in 1st person in VR.

anime porn.

I mean AR for museums and art installations.

this will take a lot of time setting up and creating the map, won't it?

So view galleries at your home, that seems plausible.

music visualiser. there arent any good ones yet. make it inspiring and complex.

I was just thinking about this.

Difficult but doable.

this sounds good too, thanks!

I was thinking augmenting a tour or a gallery. Have some basic scenery props, and then augment it with a full moving environment
