Does anyone recommend the Skyworth 50E790 UHDTV?
It's very cheap and has great features.
Skyworth is a Chinese brand but the info on this TV is very scarce even on their website despite me encountering one of these TVs on the local appliance store.

But I am much concerned about build quality and reliability.
Please reply to me if you find more info on this HDTV since this is the one I want the most.

>>54196396

Not in the US, don't have one

>>54196398

Yeah, Alipay.

You can pay with MasterCard and Visa now, but last time I checked (nearly three years ago) they didn't, so I bought Alipay vouchers from Australia Post.

I estimate the package is going to be around the 4KG mark, so shipping seems to be around $50AUD.

Express shipping on Chinese mainland is a pittance, if it wasn't free most sellers provided it for 10CNY, which is around $2AUD.

I've seen that gif before, except uncensored. Brutal.

This time when I first started watching it I thought someone was popping out of the bin.

I find that China Post isn't worth a pinch of shit. EMS isn't bad. Best option, if you could be bothered, is consolidating an order where possible and getting a Western courier to deliver.

>>54196580

For what it's worth I got a Chuwi vi8. It's not a bad bit of kit for $100. Battery is a bit lacking and you have to install some obscure driver to get the touchscreen properly configured, but for $100 it's twice the tablet a N7 is so you're laughing.

In your price range though, I've got no idea. Maybe a Xiaomi like >>54196601 Anon suggested.

Hah, no way I'll get it by Tuesday. This is all happening in China anyway, so no ANZAC day there.

Given the current delivery speeds hopefully everything will arrive at the forwarders either tomorrow or Tuesday, then just gotta wait for it to be couriered over to Ausfagland.

No idea what speed they run at, but I'll keep you guys posted for those who want to avoid the AliExpress price gouging.

>AliExpress price gouging?

To give you some idea of how bad it is, I wanted to buy some titanium screws from a big seller in China. They were 0.9CNY (18c AUD). each, not including shipping, and you could purchase any amount from 1 to 90,000 or something.

After talking to the seller he said he only ships overseas using his AliExpress store. There you can only buy in lots of 50, and the price? 31c AUD each, not including shipping.

Granted that's not much money but that's a 72% price disparity.

There's other shit like that on Ali (a radiator I bought with roughly the same price disparity) so they're taking Westeners for a ride with AliExpress. They won't get away with it on Taobao because the Chinese know what their money buys them.

Luckily with Taobao providing a freight forwarder now you also get away with not having to pay commission to an agent, you've just gotta put in a bit of extra legwork. Not worth it for one item, but if you make considerable purchases there it's worth it.

How does AliExpress handle refunds in cases of lost shipments? What if there was no tracking?
I assume "China Post Registered Air Mail" has tracking and "China Post Ordinary Small Packet" does not.

Dutchanon here, I've paid for tracking for my first couple of orders after that I haven't paid for it since aside from just insurance and the one time I ordered something more than $50.

No significant change in shipping time for me which is 1 to 2.5 weeks from the moment it's shipped regardless if I had tracking or not.

Most of the time it's going to be used with SALTS to stream TV shows for my dad and sister so I'm not worried about that. Will these devices have any issues running 1080p movies?

School forced me to buy one for $400, it includes Windows 8.1 Enterprise and had to get it in order to register a domain account. Not much you can do might as well use it.
It has cracked in two places, if you look at the left of the screen I had to glue some shit together there, on the right side there is also some small cracks emerging. Behind it has a crack over the right hinge. But the battery lifetime and specs is decent enough for browsing. The reason for the cracks is probably me treating it like absolute trash for some time now. Pic related.

It's been in use since 2011 or so, but if you use HorribleSubs (they have simple softsubs, and aren't hi10p), or mp4 reencodes - like [DeadFish], [NemDiggers] and other similar ones, you shouldn't have much problems.

And yeah, normal TV shows would probably work flawlessly.
>>
>>54199411
You can get a lot of h.264 still encoded in 8-bits out there, just don't go on fucking AB and download the Fullmetal Alchemist Brothehood rip with half 8-bits and other half 10-bits. Idiots altogether.

Think I saw some Rockchip CPUs doing 10-bit with software decode using 100% CPU, this is the best they can do and in fact preferred. I would recommend you get some x86 to watch 10-bit with, hardware decode stuff like Amlogic uses is trash IMO. These companies are ARM chip manufacturers btw.

Nee. But that depends on where you bought it and if customs feels like picking your package out of a batch of others to be tested/taxed.

Gearbest, Banggood and the like all use EU shipping companies like PostNL, BPost which for me have all gone through fine.
