Unless he can somehow use the computing power of other computers, it's not really a DDOS. The whole point of a DDOS is to overwhelm a target with traffic from a number of computers - one computer simply can't do that on its own, no matter how many instances you're running. And even if you had eight physical computers, that wouldn't be enough to take out a decent sized website.
