oh its transparency

dont they teach that when you do transparency you have to blur the background so its not confusing like in UI design 101 ?

For some reason I did not notice any performance improvements with cinnamon over gnome shell at all and it turned out to be laggy for me, so I don't see a reason to use it over Mate or XFCE, or even the gnome shell which looks far better than cinnamon. But I did like their built-in application for downloading and installing themes, applets etc with nice preview.
>>
>>54182827
whats this? is that default xfce or some addons etc ? looks comfy, please details

xubuntu

get wallpaper from ubuntu

get numix
http://itsfoss.com/install-numix-ubuntu/
set numix icons
set numix theme
set numix window theme

set transparency in whiskermenu
set dark theme in whiskermenu
http://ronn-bundgaard.dk/blog/whisker-menu-dark-theme/

set panel at the bottom, to be larger and partly transparent
set taksbar in the panel to be icon based
wait for dockbarx to get ppa working for 16.04

ITT: retards judging a DE by the used theme

Cinnamon is the best DE available. It is a fact.

OP is clearly a 12yo, who hasn't developed a good taste yet

RIP dockbarx. It is the comfiest panel application thing.

Also add a keyboard shortcut so you can launch it that way (I use Super+Z)

Was pretty good until gtk 3.20 came along. It broke many themes and there are still some odd unsolved glitches.

Wrong, OP. It's KDE. It's the best DE ever to exist.

No other qt or gtk based DE or wangblows DE can compete.

Cinnamon protip: move taskbar to the top. Install Docky. Place Docky bar on the bottom with intellihide mode. God tier.

Shit negro it's better than OS X. Right click on dock icons to manage app Windows. I'll check out Cairo dock though.

But can it work without crashing? Because that would be pretty good feature, that Cinnamon seems to be missing.

Is dockbarx really kill, or will the developer update it soon? I'm trying out KDE now and kinda liking it, not sure if I want to go back to XFCE or not but I'm not going to bother with it unless it gets dockbarx back.

>>
>>54184073
Cinnamon isn't prone to crashing. I've been using it for a year or so and had a it had a few updates during that time. The stability is there. Gtk 3.20 made many cinnamon themes unusable and there are still some graphical glitches, but they're getting fixed as the themes are getting updated.

It's decent at best, but still the best DE there is.

>>54186105
KDE is stable in my opinion. I've tried it on Antergos, KaOS, Manjaro and it worked great on every distro. Too bad it doesn't work well with proprietary AMD legacy drivers.
