My computer hard resets whenever I play any video game
sometimes the game will just crash, sound will loop, i will hear an error noise, and the monitor will turn on and off saying no input detected. it is impossible to alt tab or ctrl alt delete, i have to hard reset in this situation.
It didn't crash during a FurMark stress test
I've tried fully reinstalling the drivers with DDU multiple times
ive tested each ram stick individually
temps are in acceptable ranges
750ti, not a new build, it's been working for years previously

I have 1 128GB and 3 identical 1 TB HDDs labeled C: to F: respectively. I now need to replace drive E: with a 4TB I just aquired.

What's the easiest way for me to know which physical drives the labels correspond to so I can replace it in 1 shot without fumbling around serial numbers etc

I have subscribed to Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus using my university email address which gives you Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word,. Given that I will graduate in 2 weeks, the license will expire (I'm certain). Is there any way to keep Microsoft Word/PowerPoint etc.? Maybe if I add them to the firewall or is it hardcoded (which should be patchable -- something I'm sure someone much smarter than me in this regard has already done)?

Serial is a pretty good bet. Use crystaldiskmark to get the serial real fast. It'll be on the HDD.

Google isn't cooperating, so here I am. I just finished my build and...

1. Front USB ports on the Corsair 200R don't work in Windows. They work just fine when I'm in the BIOS.
2. Speaking of which, even the rear USB 3.0 ports don't work for some reason. The 2.0 ones do.
3. Do I have to do anything in particular to make the SSD go as fast as proclaimed? I expected the Windows flag to not form upon rebooting.
4. How do I go about blocking the updates that try to mandate Windows 10? So far updates overall are turned off.

Motherboard is M5A99FX PRO R2.0. I have no optical drive.

Hmm, so I have to switch on Windows Update. Good thing I got that old PCI network card working. Yes, just PCI. No e. I'll get a new one if this one doesn't pan out. I somehow forgot that the motherboard came with a support disc. Moving the contents of that to a USB drive to see if that helps.

Or I can use Windows Update.

>>54179042
Checked the Device Manager and those teletele exclamation points are there.

PS: Holy shit the TV I'm using isn't fit for PCs. Then again, the damn thing is 720p dating back to 2007 whereas the GPU is 1080p. I was hoping I didn't have to invest in a monitor. Good thing my birthday's in a few weeks.

Oh so the disks aren't visible? Not sure if your bios has the featurs but they may list what disk is attached to what sata port. Sata port #s are listed in the manual and list the model and some other identifying information aboutthe drive. You can get the same information from crystaldisk. You can maybe disable the drive in question via device manager and see which one spinned down and stopped working. Etc

You mind elaborating on that? Toggle the tabs on the BIOS? Because it says the front panels are indeed enabled. Windows is the problem. Unfortunately, it's taking its sweet time checking for updates.

Guys, help.

I tried to install http://daz8activator.com/ to get rid of the "activate windows! Go to PC settings to activate Windows" watermark and halfway through installation I realized I fucked but it was too late. It installed some horrible horrible software that I don't need and I'm pretty sure it's going to fuck my computer up. How would I go about dealing with this? Will draw whatever the anon that helps me out with this wants.

Because we don't know if distance is quantized yet. We are currently assuming that distances are continuous, so field calculations use integration over continuous distances.

If space is quantized, then it is below plank length. If it is below plank length, it is impossible to measure.

Generally, we talk about quantized energy states instead, since that is what is measurable and usable.

You are mixing and matching ideas like crazy.

Quantized energy levels are solutions to schrodingers equation for given boundary conditions. Wave functions are generally continuous, and particles in electromagnetic fields tend to have a continuous transition of states.

This reminds me of a book I read about how to lie with statistics (ISBN-13: 978-0393310726). After reading that book, I came to the conclusion that I should automatically ignore any entity which provides
"statistics", unless said entity is working for me--because it's probably highly doctored BS otherwise.

I didn't hire the entity who made this chart, and I certainly didn't come up with the numbers myself, so I call BS on this chart. 1st off, they're throwing really generic numbers. There's no definition of a "failure". It's too simple to get a realistic understanding of what this chart is supposed to portray. This really seems like something to support the creator's bias, IMO. In my personal experience, I've observed the inverse of failure rates of Hitichi and WD drives. I have a WD drive that's pushing 15 years total operating time and still works fine--very outdated, but still fully operational. I also had a WD drive that hardly worked 100 hours, and failed. Although that is the only WD drive of mine that actually died, all of my many other WD drives worked fine after many years of operation before I stopped using them due to being outdated. I've had my share of Hitachi drives, and I don't actually own any of them any more, because they all failed in about a year of similar use as my WDs, so I disposed of them. ...Even my 1 and only Hitachi optical drive failed in about 6 months of very lite use. When I say fail, I mean it's unusable, as in I can't even install an OS on to it or read the optical media for installing software.

The only Hitachi hard drive I had that lasted longer than about a year was the one that came with my PS3. I had that for about 3 years before I replaced it for a bigger drive. But I don't play games much so the drive spent most of those 3 years powered-off, so maybe that's why it lasted so long.

FINALLY managed to figure it out, posting here for archival purposes in case someone has the same issue down the line.

Basically what I had to do is go to device manager, and I found "Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 device" or something like that under Universal Serial Bus devices. Now what you have to do is right click it, go to update driver, then pick from a list of drivers. Generic Bluetooth Adapter should be one of the ones there, after picking that it reinstalled the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and everything was good again.

Why is it when I use windows xp is a virtual box it just "feels" slow? Liek clicking and stuff. i have the computer to run it well so its not my pc, was windows xp really that meh?

Most virtual machines include tools to install in the virtual host to make it run better. Without those tools, any OS will have a slow and clunky feel.

This. Before adding the paravirtualization layer, a lot of the hardware components have to be completely emulated, as opposed to just converting instructions to something the host understands.

My university email is expiring in a week and I need something equivalently "professional" for job applications, etc.

That's actually the ideal way to use a Lithium based cell. Letting it discharge semi-regularly but never letting the charge below 70% is the best way to use modern batteries.

Port scanning (usually) only tells you something is listening on some port, not what. nmap tells you the service because a lot of applications listen on standard ports (e.g., http server on port 80, ssh on port 22 and so on).

Yes. It could be either your PSU or GPU (less probable). Try replacing your PSU with a spare and do a stress test.
>>
>>54183025

I don't have a spare one, I'd have to buy one new. I don't think the GPU has anything to do with it though.
Especially because when I OCd my CPU a few months ago and increased the voltage I started hearing weird sounds from my PSU a few weeks later and reverted the CPU OC just to be safe.
Temps are still very low, 30-45 for the CPU and 30-55 for the GPU depending on the load.

So my current build is this:

Motherboard: MSI H81M-E33
CPU: i5 4460
GPU: ASUS r9 280x
RAM: 8gb of DDR3 1600mhz

Let's say that I cheaped out on the motherboard, reason being I had to replace mine not long ago because of some stupid tinkering with flashing BIOSes. It wasn't much better to be honest.

In any case, I need to know, how bad could a cheap motherboard affect performance when it comes to having a CPU or GPU that aren't complete trash? I have heard that it would be more important if you used integrated graphics but otherwise it was fine.
