first of all, you need some kind of antiseptic liquid (I have something called detoll).
put 1 part antiseptic 5 parts water and suspend your razor in the solution
get some shaving cream
smear the cream on where you want to shave (shave in sectors, don't try to smear your whole area and rush things) take out your razor and do one meaningful stroke
then wash the blade out thoroughly, suspend the razor in the antiseptic solution and repeat till clean
it's the only way to prevent razor bumps and itchy ass (you don't want that)
I also use this technique on my face, haven't had a major razor bump problem since I started this
