Ignoring video games completely, how does this affect performance? Im running a 7970 and 8350, use my computer for work (not important), photoshop (digital drawing) and watching anime mainly. I can play almost everything, BF4 works on high-ultra 60 FPS stable, but newer games like Witcher 3 suck, lowest 30-40 FPS. Thanks to Nvidia.
Pro-tip: Don't play new games and don't support that shit. Older ones work perfectly fine Cod4 will run 60 FPS on desktop clock.

dude I play witcher 3 maxed on a single fury x in 4k and I get 35+ fps which is playable
it looks great and it runs at a playable framerate, you either don't have the hardware to run 4k because you're poor or whatever or you just haven't tried 4k in general and don't know what it's like

Most of the scaling problems from 2015 are now solved. 1080p is dying or at least the new lowend/poorfag tier resolution.

You can do that, but if you run 4K and set games to 1080p they'll be rendered in 1080p. Its the same effect as when you run 640x480 on 1080p, it looks horribly blurry.
So get at least a 780/R9 290 and you're fine. More expensive GPUs are currently not worth it, nothing can max 4K.
