I use my phone for 3 things.
Checking email.
Listening to music.
And occasionally calling people.
Why should I use CM?
>>
>>54134460
because AOSP + Xposed is not botnet
>>
Have better battery life with stock android, and the performance difference doesn't justify the loss. If you know how to use the right scripts and debloat stock ROM with a decent kernel, I'm usually better off without cyanogenmod. Often times the custom roms are a bit too buggy for my liking.
>>
What's the point?

Using CMRemix (CM13) stable on my Note 4. It's miles better than touchwiz. If this is one of those curry ROMs that /g/ shits on, they haven't tried this shit.

They also roll out security fixes MUCH faster than stock.

Google it yourself, it's an issue on many phones running CM and it's been like this for YEARS. I want my phone to work. I don't care if it has a bunch of features I'll never use, I just want a modern version of stock Android that isn't buggy shit.

>>
>>54141158
>Why is it inferior?
SoC that uses more power for less performance than a Note 3. LCD drawing more power than the OLED on the Note 3, worse battery capacity without the ability to (easily) change the battery (meaning the less than stellar battery is probably only able to hold 70-80% of what it should), worse DAC, no microSD, smaller screen, etc.
I mean you're comparing a late 2012 Nexus device to a flagship that came out a year later.
Given this fact, that means the issue is in software, and that means the problem is with CM. CM naturally runs more stable on a developer oriented phone like the Nexus 4.

So I've got a Galaxy Ace II which is on its last legs. Can anyone recommend a super lightweight compatible ROM that'll carry me over til I upgrade to a g4? Any other tips to make this brick more usable?

When the fuck were we talking about cyanogen OS?

Too hard to get on my g4 ; -;

I am. Running my galaxy S3 with cm10.1 based slimbean rom. Enjoying every second of it since I flashed the rom two years ago. Tried giving resurrection remix cm13 a go but it seems buggy for me. And that cannot clear cache and dalvik bug? Bummer

The CM12.1 Nightly for my Xperia Z3 is actually pretty stable. You should at least try it.

>>54141122
Try it with different E-Mail addresses. Took me a few tries, too...
>>
>>54134530
Even a samsung galaxy fucking gio will run cyanogen mod, no excuses
>>
>>54143960
Use cm13 nightly.
Despite not being marked as such, it's stable as a rock on an s3, even more so than the last "stable" build, and by God is it smooth and pretty.
Paired with TWRP or whatever the fuck that recovery it's called this piece of shit is now fucking godly.
>>
I am using cm right now on my gs3, it runs excellently and I find that my battery lasts longer. Because on the stock os, the battery used to die on me after about 3 or four hours of standby.

I also like having no Samsung bullshit installed taking up processing speed and space

Too little features, shitty default apps(why include them at all). Currently using crdroid but DU and Exodus are alright as well. Those with stock ROMs are turbo retards though, I couldn't stand mine more than 15 minutes.

Idk what 2 say m8.

Give us more details what's not working for you?

Just follow a guide online or if anything post on xda forums / Cyanogen mod forums, they'll help you.

Yu need to give us more details lol

I like the sony music app, stamina mode photo widget, and camera app. Other than that pretty stock. CM mod is always cancer half the time random shit like GPS doesn't work or camera errors out or OTA updates don't either. I used it on my S3 to avoid touchjizz but that was in the days of cancerous skins on all non nexus phones.

Oh also to add to this. Back when i usedam S3 i switched to carbonrom which was literally better in everyway and actually did have cool features like lock screem notifications that google ripped off from them anyway.
