Is $6,000k a month a good salary in Paolo Alto?
Got this job offer from a startup there, I need to fly there all the way from India, but I'm worried about taxes and rent.
$72 is a bit low for the valley. depends on what the startup is.

Get a second-hand RV and live in it. C-Class ones are dirt cheap. Slap a solar panel on the roof if there isn't one already there and you've got power. The oven, hot water and the fridge all run off propane. Go to an RV park overnight once a week to fill up on freshwater and dump your grey and black tanks. There are places you can dump your tanks for free but they're generally well out of suburban areas. Water is of course free whereever there is an unattended tap and you have a hose.
It's not free living like so many foolishly believe but it's cheaper than renting an apartment. The only real problem is internet access - you can get wifi plans that are good enough for general browsing at a decent enough price. Park at places like Walmart overnight to sleep and then move on.

I moved here from Michigan a year ago and I like it well enough, what's your issue with it?
It's pretty crowded(always a line when I want to go get fast food or whatever), and the internet is slow which surprised me considering that it's a hub of internet/tech companies. Oh and of course the rent is ridiculous.
Other than that I don't have any gripe. Area I live in is full of Mexicans and Chinese but they don't bother me, good mexican/asian food and In-N-Out burger is a plus too. Everyone is also super nice and friendly and the weather is nice too.
