vim, because I like it and that's good enough.

Sublime, not too bloated and easy to use, doesn't really matter what you use imo as long as you Get Shit Done(tm)

Notepad++ on Windows.

Vim.
Anything but VS is ok, really.

Nano doesn't have fucked up keybindings, it has WYSIWYG interface/controls as well as decent enough sytax highlighting.

For 90% of admin tasks nano is more than enough if you're smart, only an insecure idiot would go out of their way to make tasks difficult and time consuming using vim/emacs/gui-ides to edit basic files.

Eclipse is shitty but if you're going to have VS you've gotta have it. Also, Visual Studio Code > Atom.

Yeah I'm comfy with nano because I'm used to it and it does everything I need it to. Can't be fucked memorising new keybindings just because neckbeards think vim is for 1337 h4x0r5.

Can you understand why some of us like VI(m) then?

GNU nano is a relatively new program, we don't want to have to relearn a whole bunch of new keybinds just to keep editing files.
>>

>sublime worse than notepad++
not on a mac or linux, excluding the fact that np++ isn't on those platforms. sublime is a bretty gud editor though
>>
>>54065535
>do u even worship stallman??
No, why would I?
GNU is toxic communism, once software is tainted by GPL it can't be used with much else, the GPL is specifically designed to harm.

>GPL fans said the great problem we would face is that companies would take our BSD code, modify it, and not give back.
>Nope—the great problem we face is that people would wrap the GPL around our code, and lock us out in the same way that these supposed companies would lock us out. Just like the Linux community, we have many companies giving us code back, all the time. But once the code is GPL'd, we cannot get it back.

Oh right, because a licence desgined to satisfy the goals of a government grant is totally more freedom respecting than a licence designed to grant users freedom. How is software that belongs to the international public commons a bad thing?

>>

>How is software that belongs to the international public commons a bad thing?
It's not owned by an imaginary 'international public commons' it's owned by GNU.
Using the GPL automatically transfer copyright for said software to GNU.
When stallman dies, do you think his replacement will continue to comply with the GPL or will just relicense software for their own gain?

Pretty good chance it'll be the latter and no one will be able to do a damn thing about it, as GNU owns your software.

The fuck?
Are we using the same nano?

I've been using it through SSH forever and just use monochrome text and the save hotkey
>>
>>54065937
It's supported it since like 2001, you just have to turn it on.

You can also use 3rd party syntax files like from: https://github.com/scopatz/nanorc which is incredibly popular.

Vim. Because habit.

Also because most of the time I'm editing something, it's just a config file or init script or something.

Otherwise, Kate.

Don't really program much. At work recently, I've been using VBA in Excel. Pls don't bully.

after 3 weeks I just gave up
too much work for what seemed like there will be very little gain for daily use
but recommend to any linux user to get basic movement and editing

Atom when I constantly work in big project folders.
Sublime Text if I have to do quick edits on the fly.
Nano if I'm working on remote directories and I'm too lazy to mount the folder via sshfs.

Emacs, because of macro, and because I like to use that OS.

I find vim a lot more efficient in doing basic editing than nano though.
The keybinds aren't hard you fucking retard, they're actually quite convenient and do convenient tasks.
