Seriously what's the difference between atx and matx ?

Three expansion slots that you're not gonna use anyway.
all of the decent matx cases are really expensive.
>>54060632
matx has way worse cooling for multiple pcie cards
>>54060654
>>54060670
PCI e ssds are going to be mainstream soon ?
Full tower or GTFO
>>54060632
matx is smaller and has less expansion room but that's fine for most people

To be fair it was my first build, I thought I would need "all" types of expansions and stupid amounts of storage (well maybe this one is important since I'll be going into video editing on top of my already filled terabyte drive from producing music.)
Next time tho I'll build a m-atx with watercooling, I underestimated the importance of portability.
>ATX case
>one HDD

Should probably do SLI so it doesn't feel like I'm wasting so much space. At least my temps are ridiculously cool with just two case fans.
>he uses a case

Unles you actually plan to use lots of PCIE devices ATX is fucking disgusting.

It's like you think fins aren't super sexy or something
>>54063313
air cooling a computer is like that kid who picked the volcano project in science. everyone picks it, it's mainstream, it's easy, and is slightly less efficient than water cooling.
but you air cooling faggots will never, ever have a cpu or gpu at 19C with fans running at ~<1000 rpm's.
>>54063346
I'll also never have pump noise. :^)
Also I can go smaller with air cooling
Yeah it'll be hotter, but I can go so small.

Why exactly would anyone care if there temp is 19C ? Should be fine with 25 to 35 idle.

For air cooling, I agree. Water though, not so much. You can benefit from the extra rad space that a full tower affords you over a mid (though mid towers have really stepped up their game in terms of rad space lately).

So you're a rare example of someone who should use ATX.
most people shouldn't though, I try to steer most new builders towards mATX at least.

I use full tower because I hate navigating in small cases with my fingers when I change components.

It's basically the same shit that's in your picture, but without unnecessary dead air everywhere.
>>54069225
Also an insane amount of rad space for a single CPU and GPU.
And the 1kw PSU is way overkill.
>>54069225
This
Why not? There's not price difference with mATX/ITX of the same quality, and I have more than enough space to keep an ATX case lying around.
>>54069225
>>54070273
First of all, a mATX case that's the same size as a small midtower is not "muh small case".
Secondly, it's a pump and a tiny res in the same area in which I was running rear I/O anyway. It's not like something else was going to take up that space, so the effective volume of the case barely increased.
Thirdly, why do you think I changed cases? External pump/res was just a symptom of my shit outgrowing the smaller case. I couldn't go any further in this case without actually increasing the case's volume (ie. external rads). At that point, it just made much more sense to simply buy a larger case.

I was pointing out the rad space because if you had gone with a normal 30mm or so rad up front you could have kept stuff internal.
Linked post doesn't explain the 1KW PSU though.
You can have whatever case you want with whatever hardware you want, but if I think it doesn't make sense I'm going to criticize it.
>>54071163
I don't care
>>54071822
The tl:dr is futureproofing. That term is thrown around a lot by idiots, but I think it applies here.
As I outlined in my post, the graphics cards are coming, it's just not a great time to buy right now. Waiting for Pascal and Polaris so I scratched the itch another way. If they turn out to be underwhelming, I'm just going to buy two Fijis or two 980 Tis on sale, not going to wait any longer than that.
I had a shorter PSU (a Seasonic XP-860), which allowed me to mount the pump/res internally, but it started making weird noises. After 3 different units that were faulty in one way or another (for fucks sake Seasonic), I said "fuck it" and bought this 1kW guy which was a bit too long to fit the pump. 10-year warranty, silent at load, and bound to accommodate any and all upgrades. Even if I decide to run a 8-core i7 and two 350W GPUs I'm good.
Funnily enough, I actually much preferred the external setup. It made filling and draining a piece of cake, and it simplified the tubing layout (since it allowed the pump and res to function as one piece with the m-m coupler)
>>54071984
Knowing the path has it make more sense, though I personally wouldn't have ever ended up getting a 1KW psu.
I can see external making stuff easier, again my personal preference doesn't allow me to like it even though it's really useful.

I don't want to come across like I'm trying to boss you around, but while you are wasting time learning and using meme languages, you could be mastering C/C++ or asm.
Also, either change that light bulb or put it the fuck up, somewhere safe. The shit inside those bulbs can give you cancer. You don't want that son, so it's imperative that you store bulbs in places where they won't get broken, or dispose of them properly.
Now, I don't want you walking away feeling completely criticized, so let me compliment you on the cherry furniture. I'm a fan of cherry myself. It just looks so gorgeous and elegant. There's nothing at all wrong with oak, but it's just not cherry.
Am I the only one with a micro tower and my video card sticking out the side?
>>54074466
Don't worry, I quite programming and went to med school instead, and that bulb is a plastic LED bulb
Cherry's pretty top though
>>54070656
Those handles make it look more important though. With them it looks like something, a deus ex machina if you will, could be inside that will turn the tides at the very last moment, and help defeat the bad guys for good. Maybe it's a new magical weapon, or an antidote of some sort. It don't fucking matter. It's your fantasy, and you could be living it out everytime you booted up your PC.
On the other hand, machina. Forbidden fucking machina!
