Don't judge CPU's by the Number of Cores and Clock. At 500Mhz this thing is faster than an NVidia Tegra 1 Quad-Core at 1Ghz (there was an Demo by TI somewhere). Also look at their community. They Portet amazing things to the OpenPandora(1x600Mhz, 256Mb RAM) like Serious Sam 1&2. And the newest Libreoffice is also perfectly usable an this thing.
>>54053411
Is there actually a case that can accommodate that shape without also being wastefully large?
It looks neat on the bench, but there needs to be case that assumes massive cooling on a miniature system.

>>54058042
Well basically everyone skip "back cabling day" and post his perfect front side guts, I tried to do something good even in the back but just function-wise and not for the looks.
Also due the case that is not of the kind that allows detailed cable management.
And IMHO, when building my system I preferred to spend time making the anti-sag bracket for the GPU instead of autistical cabling just to show off on /g and then close it inside the case for the 95% of the time of it's existence.

>>54062232
nah, there's just nothing really to it, sure I can respect the effort and if someone gave me one I'd daily drive it into the ground but in the end most ITX builds just look like the same featureless black box over and over again with a little variance in cooler/GPU here and there, they aren't really super exciting
plus I generally like bigger shit with a more machinelike feel, whitebox stuff in general doesn't do that for me

>>54062690
P8Z77I-Deluxe
Noctua NH-D15
Probably 16GB DDR3
I'm almost certain it's an Asus 670 Mini
Probably a 3770K.
If you wanted to make it with current tech:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hKmnkL
or you can go cheaper if you don't care about the daughterboard
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4QbWMp
>>54062690
~$600-$700 + GPU, assuming it's not a piece of shit.
>>54062786
ok, it's not a 670 mini, but mini/itx/ whatever you want to call short GPU's are the coolest looking option for this kind of build.
>>54053411
That one would be tech porn if it didn't have a full length GPU (which you can't see at that angle).
>>54054064
>TFW you can't afford fully custom cabling to do this
>>54058414
badass looking
>>54058683
This is awesome
>>54061890
Now you just need the PSU to sit directly above and a case to fit it all in that configuration and you have the perfect mini-ITX system.
Valve's steam machine layout was pretty fucking epic considering it was almost entirely off-the-shelf parts.
>>54062889
Silverstone and Fractal design make some cases with 90 degree gpu risers like the steam machine.
posttwo would love this thread
>>54062941
Yeah I think some of them still aren't quite as compact though, and then there's coolers and stuff which would be hard to fit in a similar configuration
>>54062994
only if you get a fuckhueg cooler or a tower cooler.
Stock coolers are quite small and fit in most of these cases and work well enough if you don't oc
>>54062994
Coolers aren't a problem.
The Noctua L9I and Cryorig C7 both perform well and will easily fit.
The case in that picture looks a lot like a Node 202, and if it isn't and is smaller, it won't be by much.

This is a mix of several games, though Civ 5 is the one that pushed the CPU the hardest.
>>54062889
>steam-machine-teardown-to(...).jpg
That thing was terrible to build in if you had to do much more than switch out a drive or the GPU. All that plastic crap made it a giant headache, and if you didn't put it back together exactly right with all the cables and everything in the right place, you'd have to take it all apart again and start over.
