this is pro lineup regarded as one of the worst modern apple device lineups, yet it seems to be the only apple device that actually does something best while being the cheapest option
>>
Hi. I have both the 12in and the 9.7 thanks to my work.

For art I definitely prefer the 12 in. Bigger battery and workspace, pencil is fantastic on either though.
>>
>>54008247
is the 9.7 usable? I barely could afford the 12.9... over 1000€ here
>>
>>54006081
If you can't afford a cintiq you get an ipad. I'm not making this up.
>>
>>54008300
I actually have some cintiq I got for free, but I need contained portability, surprisingly it really seems that I'm going with an apple device
>>
>>54008322
The ipad still doesn't have a real drawing app, the best you can do is a remote desktop with noticeable input lag.
>>
>>54008266
It's a "regular" sized iPad with arguably better specs and features overall than the 12" model.

I've heard great things about procreate

yeah I'll go with it probably, I know 9.7'' is small but I have to manage, at least it's easier to take with me

>>
>>54008369
if you want it for just drawing, check auction sites for a used intuos pro 3 or a later model
>>
>>54008423
I need portability and I have this weird thing I want to do where I take images with the tablet and draw stuff and people in the scenes, there's some absolutely beautiful environments near me too!

Real computer with Windows, photoshop/krita/anything, stylus by Wacom without stupid battery
>>
>>54008486
new ones actually have a battery and are not by wacom, no tilt either

too much money, I'm considering though

I don't think I need windows applications with me, it would be nice to have them if I change my mind though
>>
>>54008486
>stylus by Wacom without stupid battery
All those provide is a capacitive tip. No tilt or pressure. The ones for their own tablets are powered by an extra layer built into their devices.
>>
>>54008609
my old intuos actually has no battery while still having pressure, I bet it's some wireless charging like tech
>>
>>54008483

Which size did you pick and what type of file does your work use?
>>
>>54008694
9.7'' because the bigger one is expensive and the file format most probably doesn't matter

smaller one also has a better camera, not that it really matters to my overall usage
>>
>>54008609

Anything below surface you will run into problems. The only reason the Ipad is even remotely viable is because enough developers made halfway decent art applications for the thing. You could get a note 10.1 2014 but you have to use android and there are maybe 3 truely good apps for it when it comes to art. So you'll be stuck with windows. And like I said, anything bellow a surface is going to give you problems. The cheaper ones dell made or not bad but don't deliver well on space and the stylus requires a battery you will most likely have to find online somewhere assuming you get the one that works with it. The win tablet made by Asus that you can pick up on ebay for like $60 has pressure sensitivity but you run the risk of getting a model that has a faulty cable that will render the either the digitizer or the touchscreen (or both) unusable. The Toshiba encore write I hear isn't bad, if you can find one at a reasonable price. Honestly dude. Win tablets are kind of a shit show at a certain point.
>>
>>54008825
so the principle is basically the same as wireless charging?
>>
>>54008835
what kind of shit can't I simply do on iOS?
>>
>>54008843
basically, yes
it's more close of NFC tags.
>>
>>54008885
I wonder if it would be possible to hack a drawing pad to be a charging base, probably way too little power

I recommend the Yiynova 22u v3( the one in white).

Very close competition with the Cintiq 13hd since both are around $800.
>>
>>54006081
The iPad is just fine. The people here telling you stuff like "hurr it's not a real computer" are usually people that have no clue what you want to do with those things. I've used wacom tablets including the cintiq for more than ten years. Now I own an iPad pro (the 12.9 inch version) and it's hands down the best digital drawing experience you can buy. There are quite a few pretty impressive apps specifically designed for sketching (procreate, adobe photoshop sketch and a lot more). They may not be the 1:1 equivalent of comparable software for Windows, but you don't need those for that purpose anyway. In fact I think the full UI of Photoshop for example would be pretty annoying to use with the pen.

>inb4 five shekels have been added to your Apple account or whatever
>>
>>54009111
Have you used procreate? I heard good things of it.
>>
>>54008825
That's for a (Wacom) stylus on a Wacom tablet.

>>54008486 seems to be arguing for a Wacom stylus on a Surface Pro, where Wacom's RF communication system doesn't exist.
>>
>>54009111
Thanks for the input! I've been a little intimidated by people having the attitude that you can't do anything... I want to fucking draw and have badics like layers etc.
>>
I like my Wacom Inkpad on the move and my cintique for pc
