What monthly paid-for services does /g/ use? I'll go first:

- Netflix
- AWS
- DigitalOcean
- Tarsnap
- Spotify
- CloudApp

I'm still looking for an alternative to Evernote (absolutely hate the fact that it isn't plain text), and apparently using Dropbox for backups is stupid, so I need to find a solution to that as well. Always found it odd that Dropbox would sync all my backups to all my computers.

I'm not quite sure why I still pay for two of them. Netflix is horribly outdated in my region and I watch maybe one episode or movie every other month. Got suckered in by Narcos.

As for office 365 I got one year for free with my tablet and then I picked up a 2 year prepaid subscription for $10 on sale. I did it for the onedrive storage but I don't even utilize 20GB of it.

Kolab IIRC is similar to CM as far as features go. Thing is, I barely ever use the features that come with CM, so it's a waste of dosh. Kolab is cheaper tho, so that is a plus.

As for tutanota and protonmail, I'd use them, but using an e-mail client on both my phone and desktop is crucial.

Posteo works fine for me. It's cheap as fuck, and I don't have highest security needs like some here may have so it's good enough.

also this is true but it's worth mentioning that sometimes you buy from amazon and you're getting it fulfilled by someone else. this is *often* the case for used items, but the only things i consistently buy used tend to be books. i buy lots of random shit from amazon though, and the two-day (and sometimes same-day) shipping guarantee pays for itself rather quickly.

although i think you should be able to get amazon prime student favors. that makes it something like $50/year instead of 70 or whatever it is normally.

Might drop Spotify some time soon, but it's so cheap I really don't have to and it's nice to have when I get an itch to listen to something that isn't covered by Apple Music or my library. My roommate and I share a Netflix account, and iCloud w/El Cap and iOS 9 notes makes for a very good Evernote replacement, especially when paired with a 9.7" iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.
