Would you recommend the Xiaomi mi4c for a normal phone user?

I go to university and back, use it maybe 9 hrs a day, I don't play on my phone.

I was thinking of the Mi4c because I have small hands, a friend has the Redmi 3 but it's too big for me.

I just want a good camera and I wish it had a microsd slot, but I don't mind it that much

Is there any other phone that can do the same for about the same price?
>>
Is there still no phone that has a few physical buttons for games, like the Xperia play had?

If that doesn't exist, what is a cheap phone that will last me for a while, I'm still using my SGS3.
It literally only use it to browse 4chan and read manga on the go, but I would like to emulate some games as well if it has buttons.

Redmi 3 and Mi4c are both 5.0" the Redmi 3 is the cheaper variant. Redmi Note 3 is the big one. I highly suggest the Mi4c; FHD, 3gb ram, 32gb rom, great camera (and same front one as Note 3), 3000mah, only drawback for some folks is lack of sd card slot.

Shit is saturated with Samshit and Aplel. Besides, they require unique bands so tailoring a US-made xiaomi while keeping the price low would kill the profit (and like it or not US market isn't that big anyway)

Somewhere along the line Lei Jun (the founder) and that spic guy realize that it's more profitable to sell their shit in emerging markets and places that used standard 4g bands to simplify production line and keeping the price low.

Yeah. About 20-24% of all G4's will have this issue.
>>
>>53993424
>does anyone know if the LG G4 still has the bootloop issue?

Its a hardware problem so chances are that where ever you buy it from, it will have it.

The models that were manufactured pre-launch, post-launch and post-September-Fix-1 has the issue and with all those unsold units from these three manufacturing periods I doubt they have manufactured the G4 a fourth time with Fix-2 or recalled all of them for Fix-2 since that would cost a lot of money, and instead optioned out for the warranty claim lottery to save on postage. This is what I have gathered from a few Google searches so far and summed up (also based on my knowledge from working in the industry)

So I would suggest reading your warranty laws and buyers contract twice and put the receipt in a safe if you buy a G4 and then hope it either bootloops within warranty and never outside of it. I am personally gonna buy it the next time the price drops since its still a pretty good value phone, only downside is the bootloop and we don't even have any statistics on the chances of it occurring except that every unit is at risk.

We don't consider them our rivals, we both sell inexpensive devices. But we have different routes.

Indians tend to consider the “made in China” sticker a marker of inferior quality, specially when presented with an Indian alternative. They are also unlikely to spend much on software or services; half of all smartphone owners in India don’t have a data plan, and that number is falling. And despite the growing popularity of our online sales, the big volumes remain in physical stores, which are Micromax’s forte.

Fuck Google Play Services. Honestly. I had the perfect Amplify + BBS + Greenify + Disable Services + PowerNap setup working on my N5. I was pushing 7 - 8hr screen on times and total times for days. Disabled 70% of GPlay's nonsense services I didn't use. Kept Maps, Gmail and Calendar. Everything was going perfectly.

Until Play Services updated itself. The alarm wakes were real. Screen on time was halved. Total time was unaffected thanks to Greenify + Power Nap. Google is clearly the devil.

Headphone volume is pretty good.... I usually use my Piston IIIs with it and it is plenty loud, but I've also used my MDR-V6 when I'm washing dishes and it gets loud enough.

All in all a great phone, I think with Greenify it has finally stopped getting stuck in the Awake state which was my main annoyance, I think it was some quirk of the custom kernel i'm using. There were some performance issues but they haven't been a bother since the March update.

I'm looking for a cheap android phone I can use for authenticators and the like for companies that don't make apps for WP8/10.
The only real requirements are that it's not very large (5" or less?) and ideally around $50-70 USD.
It would probably be a good thing if it had the ability to update to or was already running lollipop or marshmallow (if I would have to root to do this that would be fine) to ensure longer support from apps, since I know if the OS version is too old some apps won't work.

Tldr;
Want $50-70 android phone to use for authenticators and stuff, hopefully a smaller screen, lollipop or marshmallow
What do
I'm considering the aquos crystal, the screen is neat and I should be able to get it to lollipop at least.

I checked and Bell operates only on bands that are supported by the one plus x, so that shouldn't be an issue, I don't think?

Redmi 3 and Mi4c are the same size. the Mi4c has a great chip, the same in G4 and N5X. Redmi has better battery life but lower specs.

Today I'm buying a new phone.

I'm planning on getting an iPhone SE, but what alternatives are there out there that I could look into before pulling the trigger?

At the risk of sounding like a huge pleb, the front camera being 1.2 mpx is the main thing worrying me about the SE, and 16 GB is pretty laughable.
>>
>>53999969
You'll have to deal with iTunes to put anything on it.
There are plenty choice at the same price range that offer expandable storage and much more power on the paper. (Chinkphones zenfone etc.)
But you probably want to convert to Apple and get ios. With jailbreak it becomes quite usable.
>>
>>53999650
People claimed that the 5x is pretty shitty and has a bad battery life.

Xiaomi Mi5 or Redmi 3 are frontrunners so far, open to suggestions.

The HTC 10 looks pretty sweet. It's not fuck huge, has a nice display, good DAC, expandable storage, clean android, and USB type C. It has a non-removable battery and expensive though. I don't see myself replacing the Note 4 anytime soon, but I really want to get rid of Samsung.
>>
>>54000598
Yea the HTC 10 looks like a safe, but good step in the right direction. Shame it has no waterproofing though. And I'd take their camera with a grain of salt till I can get my hands on one in-store.

Just walked into my local Vodafone and played with the LG G5 and I don't see why everyone is giving it bad reviews? It feels ok and the build quality feels fine. No worse than any other phone I played with.

Yea same. Even though I have an s7 Edge (and love it), I'm excited for HTC. This phone looks awesome (still waiting on reviews though). If this phone is a success, it means more competition for Samsung and Apple, which means higher quality phones for consumers.

Can anyone recommend Oukitel K10000?

>>
I need a sub 300€ phone

Been looking at the LG g3 (299€ for the 32gb), Oneplus X (259€) and oneplus one (249€).
Moto G 3rd gen was also on the list but the 720p screen is a turn off for me.

Opo is nice but it seems pretty huge for my tiny hands, opx's battery life really concerns me and G3's lg skin and it not being that future proof is a big minus.

Which one would you /g/entlemen pick and why?
>>
should I buy Moto G Turbo edition, or Nexus 5X?

Why?

I am casual user btw.
>>
>>54000195
Mi4c or Redmi if you want Xiaomi. Xtouch if you want chink. N5x might also fit your budget.
>>
>>54001004
LG G3 is the same size as OPO.

How about some reliable chinese brands? Have you looked at Huawei, Xiaomi, Meizu or Honor? All make good phones sub 300 USD

>>
>>54001163
Oh, I didn't even realize they were so close. I just viewed them in Phonearena's size comparison and I see it now.
Everyone says you'll get used to a bigger phone, so maybe just go with the opo?

And yeah I tried a couple of Huawei/Honor (they're pretty much the same brand right?) but none of them matched up to the specs of opo, opx or G3.
Just now I noticed the Honor 5x and it seems pretty nice, might have to do some research on it.

Great if you hate mobile data and expandable storage will all of your heart at the same time. On a stringent diet of 200MB a day it's like $80/month.

but yes, it'd be a good phone. g5 might be even better though

As it is right now, the G5 looks like a gimmicky letdown. The only way the G5 will be better is if the 10 has some hardware flaw that kills it within a year.

i barely use 1gb a month
>>
>>54002530
You're still better off with an MVNO like boost desu. The $30 a month plan includes 2GB of high speed data (will grow to 5GB) and unlimited data at 2G speeds after that. You don't have to worry about having to stick to your data diet. Because even if you use say 2GB of high speed and then 1GB of 2G speed data you'll still be charged just $30/month.

I'm honestly amazed you can stay at around 1GB of data usage a month. I use ~5GB of data each month on the 4chan app alone.
