I probably have the worst case in this thread and I'm not even going to read to find out.
I had a shitphone, but reliable, for like 6 years. An old samsung touchscreen phone. The touch stopped working one day and my mom spent 500 dollars on a phone I was looking at months prior out of curiosity. I thought it was stupid that she spent that much on a phone for me but I appreciated it.
Within two weeks it fell out my pocket while sitting onto the floor and the screen shattered. $120. So I bought a nice case.
It fell once off of my lap inside of its case in October and half the screen has been vertical color lines since. Someone tried reseating some cable and it didn't fix it, said I'd have to get the screen replaced again. I'm gonna go back sometime this week because almost every time now the screen doesn't work at all. The touch works fine, I can feel the vibrations and hear typing etc when the screen doesnt work, and when half the screen works, it works fine.
So that will be another $120 at the lowest. If something else needs to be fixed and it costs more, I'll buy a small, cheap phone. Moto G or something.
Of course, I paid for the repair, and will pay for this one.

Basically after 3 years the thing is about dead. Ordered a oneplus 2 last night since I'm feeling cheap, if that thing lasts me a year or two I'll be happy. The Note uses some thin transparent plastic case, G Pro 2 TPU case.
At first I tried to buy an expensive case for the Note, and I bought the Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal.
It totally blocks the GPS signal. So yeah, I promised back then I will never buy expensive cases again.
Z3C is the worst, like there are NO cases for this Sony 'omnidesign' due to button placement.
Bought a Spigen "Ultra Hybrid Case" which is like a gel like case, but it's so weak and soft... it's a piece of shit.
Then I bought some chink hard plastic case, currently using that when I have to.
But all of the cases suck.
