i've had one toshiba, and one hp

both are garbage. looking to buy an snsv. i've heard good things about them.
>>
Acer makes good chrome books.
They're shit at everything else.
>>
Literally everyone has or had shit models with batteries blowing up, screens going black or needing reballing after a year.
>>
>make photo with logos from all laptop brands I can think of
>name thread 'Worst laptop brands'

Look mum! I am trolling /g/!

WTF is a BenQ bros?
>>
had a acer 5920g for 10 years its pretty good upgraded cpu gpu ram and ssd and replaced the keyboard when it gets worn. its embarassing how humans willingly spend so much tender on a laptop just to browse the internet

I'm actually serious fucktard. Go back to your cage you wild animal.
>>
Is this just everything except Asus?
>>
>>53987309
I have Dell's i3 chromebook and am very happy with it, OP
>>
Acer Aspire s7. Shit battery, god awful motherboard locked into raid mode. Comes shipped with two mediocre ssds in an intel raid 0 config. Randomly shuts down thanks to a screw being loose near the battery, need to get a tiny torx screwdriver to fix it. That happens on all models thanks to acer build quality

That said some of those brands are ok op
>>
Clevo is the only good laptop brand left.
>>
>>53987309
>>
>>53987445
Siemens
They used to make everything, like Grundig, fuck knows if they're still around.
>>
>>53987309
I own a Dell. Outside of the hard drive failing (replaced it with a new one, which failed when I dropped it, then with a ssd) a few months after warranty expired, it's still going strong. It's 5 years old now. That inspiron is still great, though a bit heavy for my tastes (I bought a smaller laptop to take to school last year, whose OEM isn't on this list. BasedSNSV).

They did send me a Windows disc, plus drivers and a bunch of other shit a couple years ago for free when I asked for it, so good on them. I was using Linux (Ubuntu), wanted Windows but didn't want to pay, so yeah, that was cool of Dell.

The laptop is very plasticky, though both my laptops are (poorfag here). Heard they're a lot better now though.
>>
>>53987534
>Siemens
Oh really? Thanks anon.
>>
Hp alway fall aparts and the fans go wrooooo
>>
>>53987482
pretty much, op is a pretty obvious asus-fag (although they do make good laptops, they arent the be all end all)
>>
I have an HP Pavilion G7 and an HP14 Chromebook as my two current laptops, very pleased.

Will buy HP without hesitation.

My current and previous desktop machine were Asus, along with a Transformer Book.

>Apple
>laptops
>innovation

Fucking really?!?! They haven't done shit! Asus fucked them up with the u305x or whatever, and Dell continues to fuck everyone up with their XPS models. Apple hasn't done shit. They still have huge bezels, shit screens (Macbook air), shit ports (Macbook) and self smudge screens (Macbook pros, though I like them).
>>
>>53987663
Please re-explain yourself senpai.
>>
>>53987616
Asus is quite shit too tbqh, a cousin of mine owns an asus rog laptop, man is that shit filled with specialised programs for every part it has, and don't dare uninstall any of them as you'll lose half the advertised features, and the specialised drivers cuck windows update so hard, he has to reboot his laptop 20 times before an update succeeds. He has also had issues with the keyboard backlight staying lit after shutting the laptop down.
>>
>>53987534
>like Grundig, fuck knows if they're still around

"Grundig AG" itself became insolvent and closed in 2003.
Only "Grundig Business Systems" and "Grundig Intermedia" exist since "Grundig AG" closed and using the Brand.
>>
>>53987788
They didn't iinnovate at all. The macbook was shown up by Asus. They managed to have multiple USB 3.0 ports, as well as get higher performance out of a lower end CPU than Apple, and all while keeping it thinner.

The macbook airs are way out of date.

The macbook pros are in need of a refresh. They've been the same for a while now with nothing new. They don't even have touchscreens (you can argue about their usefulness, but this is about innovation)
>>

>gaming laptop
>asus

There's your problem. Just get a alienware next time. What is he, poor?
>>
>>53987309
Had an HP, the motherboard died after a year.
Now I have a Toshiba going strong for 3 and a half years, I use it all day every day.
>>
>>53987631

I know hp kinda got their shit together but my first laptop in college was a dv2000 back in 2006
It was the worst piece of shit electronic device I ever had. (I am not talking about laptops here I am talking about everything I have ever bought including tiger handheld games I bought or blenders or whatever )
That's why even if they redefine the world of laptops or whatever in the future. I will never ever buy any hp product ever again idgaf.

Currently have an asus zenbook u301 and a zenfone 2 they aren't exceptional I guess but I am very happy with both of them. zenfone2 had a lot of bloatware I had to remove but so far no issues on both. Very good smooth performance for the those prices

>>53987814
They are owned by a very big Turkish conglomerate , I am Turkish and interned at their plant back in 2010
We were making washing machines etc..and there was also a Tv division. I've known people from other divisions too but there is not laptop anymore from what I know ( sound systems tvs car stereos fridges vacuums etc.. etc.. but no computers )
So they are still around and making diverse range of products (mostly engineered in Germany and of good quality) They turn ok profit too from what I know
>>
>>53987864
Nope, but he's the prime example of consumerist sheeple, and oh yeah, he bought one without an ssd. He literally chose a 1tb hdd over a 500gb ssd, because he thought it is better as more is better and the more files on your drive the slower it is.
Tl;dr: He's retarded when it comes to buying technology.
>>
>>53987846
That's all fine at all but your chink piece of trash can still not run OS X so all further arguments are invalid
>>
I've had plenty of bad experiences with laptop companies, but the worst has to be Acer. I've bought several chromebooks from there, filled with shitware. Windows laptops from them filled with shit, and horrible specifications for the money. The best company is definitely Dell - they're strong, plentiful, and even their consumer grade machines have gr8 specs for the money.
>>
>>53987309
The newer Sony laptops aren't shit
>>
>>53987309
First laptop was a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook I bought heavily used. Worked fine considering its age.

Now on a Dell Latitude. Reasonably satisfied with it. The touchpad bugs out from time to time and the keyboard had some weird behaviours on Linux before they issued a BIOS update for that, but then they DID issue a BIOS update for an issue on Linux, so that's cool.
The laptop sometimes loses wired network connection when I bump it a bit while it's sitting on the docking station, but I suspect that was caused by me rough handling the connector initially. It is a E5XXX Latitude.

Probably going to buy a Fujitsu Lifebook for my next one if they survive the next couple of years, just because they're 1 of 2 remaining non US non Chinese companies making business grade laptops.
>>
>>53988073
You mean the ones made by Sony just before they sold off the VAIO brand or VAIOs made by the new company?
>>
>>53987309
>hp/lenovo/dell
>not knowing about elitebook/thinkpad/latitude
>>
HP has probably the worst cooling I've ever come across, not to mention their laptops can be complete bitches to open up.

I used to have a Pavilion M6 and then there's some cheapo model my mother used to have, before I gave the m6 to her.
Both are on par with miniature blasting furnaces.
They still work though, the M6 has been in daily use since 2012 and somehow the heat still hasn't killed it.
>>
>>53988097>>53988097
The Sony VAIOS that were most recently released. I have a friend who works for Sony who showed me his. They aren't shit but they aren't the best
>>
I've had multiple Dell laptops and I've been happy with all of them, mostly because they take a beating and keep working.

And I love my Macbook Air. Even though it's an overpriced, underpowered, overdesigned toy.

>>53987663
What's wrong with the screens?

>>53988119
>Thinkpad meme
If you only are using one computer sure, for everyone else, get a desktop and a small laptop.
>>
>>53988134
>buying shit tier consumer HP

You get what you pay for.
>>
>>53987948
>I am Turkish

SHOO SHOO ROACH
>>
Never buy an Acer, never.
>>
>>53988199

But that's wrong, since their shit tier consumer grade laptops can be expensive as fuck.
So no, you don't get what you pay for.

Instead you should have said.
>Buing consumer grade HP
>Current year.
>Shiggydiggy.
>>
>>53988067
Why would he want to?
>>
>>53988177
I've a i3-4010u and I'm playing old games and editing webms for 4chan pretty comfortably. 'Everyone else' can absolutely get by one computer.
It's the exceptionally lanky professional video editors that need more power for productivity and would be overburdened by a 12-15 inch thinkpad.
>>
>>53987528

this is so surprising to me, everytime i had a dell or a family member had one they would crap out after a little over a year. hmm.
>>
>>53987846
Oh I see where you going with this... You want them to be more like Dell. Don't you think that's counter-productive? Apple have to be different and better than their competitors to make a profit, that's economics 101. Have you ever been to school?
>>
>>53988393
All I'm saying is that if someone needs the performance from a higher-end laptop they'd be better served by having a desktop and a laptop.

I say this after having lugged a 10-pound laptop around until I got something smaller. I realized that pretty much everything I did that required processing power was at home, and everything else could be done by something much smaller.
>>
Had a Toshiba touch screen i7 meme machine that died after a year of light use

Bought a shitty 250 dollar AMD lenovo and its been infinitely better, I can play skyrim when I'm bored and the keyboard is comfy

Spending 400+ on a laptop : never again
>>
>>53987445
Acer's spinoff that merged with Siemens' former mobile phone and computer peripherals division
>>
>>53987528
At least Apple didn't get a 10 on "innovation"
>>
>>53987309
So.....no laptop is good?
>>
>tfw e6440 master race
>>
People hate like shit on Toshiba, but my old man has a ten year old Satellite and that thing simply refuses to die. He still uses it because all he does is read the news on it, but apparently the chink power brick blew so we're going to have to buy a new charger.

My Dell is still alive, but it tends to oveheat. My sister's just suddenly died one day for no god damn reason.

I want an SNSV.
>>
>>53988776
No senpai, I'm just asking which one of these brands make shit laptops. That's all desu.
>>
>>53987309
That's all the popular brands...
so what brand is good in your opinion?
>>
>>53987309
I've had two consumer Toshibas, awful cheap feeling things. I've also had one consumer Dell that is decent but nothing spectacular. I really wish I had bought a Panasonic.
>>
>>53987309
Some brands are awful
Every brand makes awful poorfag laptops.
>>
>>53987309
i had Acer and HP, both where okey at first.
BUT
Acer had some battery problems, whenever my battery run out i had to reinstall windows, no really im not kidding. No problems on linux.

HP was just pure crap. nothing to add more. Their printers are ultimate crap. God tier level crap but thats an another topic.
>>
Dell are Jews but make good servers
>>
I have a poorfag Acer laptop and it runs fine. It does have a SSD and running >Arch though.
>>
>>53990283
Dell makes the best laptops, but their desktops are shit anon.
>>
>>53987309
stop trying to justify your shitty asus.
