Has anyone ever done this? Is this a scam? I just wanna do the 30 day trial but I don't want to be billed for 100 dollars for the prime. Fuck that.
>>53933578
this belongs in /sqt/
if you buy more than a handful of things from amazon in a year, it is unquestionably worth it.
>>53933578
bump
>>53933578
If I did the 1 year thing, can I cancel the day after so i dont get charged on year 2?
>>53933696
that kind of shit is literally in the picture itself, and the FAQ for it. delete this fucking thread and learn to read.
>>53933709
I'm not OP lol, i dont see anything in the picture that answers my question.
>>53933578
i tried it.
works fine and i didn't get billed. i cancelled a couple days before the trial ended though just to be safe.
shit literally arrived the following day after i ordered it, was nice.
I did it, went over the time period, got billed, then told amazon to cancel before I ordered anything under the paid for time period and got all my money back.
I used it to order a metric shitton of computer parts (needed to build 7 PCs simultaneously for a customer) so I feel like I got great value out of a trial period, lol.
I incidentally did the same thing with newegg's comparable service.
Yeah I did it to get free 2-day shipping on my order, then in Prime section opted out so not to be billed. Worked good
I spent 6 years during undergrad and grad school rolling thru .edu emails on free 6 month student trials. They're not trying to deceive you on anything.
>>53933578
why are stock photo models always prettier than porn models
>>53933578
If you are a student do >>53935284.
kek Amazon didn't even care the delivery address and card details were always the same.
>>53935372
Because they aren't hiring professional whores.
>>53933736
>I'm not OP
Sure thing Vanessa
/g/ isn't your personal OCR
Read every single bit of English in OP's pic you dumb bitch
Not really a scam, I've had prime since 2008 as I order something at least 4 times a month.
You also get a bunch of free movies and TV shows, also free returns.
I had 2 or 3 trials back in the day (same account).
>>53933578
>vanessa
Tits or gtfo you dumb illiterate bitch. Just have the patriarchy (aka daddy) pay for your prime membership you whore.
>>53933578
>Is this a scam?
do you even know what a scam is??? How the fuck can that be considered a scam? Because you were too stupid to uncheck the "bill me when the trial expires" box???
/g/ is so stupid it is amazing
>Go on Amazon
>JOIN PRIME REEEEE YOU WANT A DELIVERY? WAIT 16 DAYS.
>Log in to my prime account
>Ah Welcome, welcome, the based god is here. Here are your deals, here's are your movies, here's your same day delivery, what's that? You want a massage? You got it.
>>53935652
yeah, you don't even need to order regularly to make it worth it; just a few times a year.
Deal is even better if you have a .edu email since it's like $50 for students
you can cancel the same day after you start the trial and you keep it for the whole 30 days
i like prime - it's great if you order a lot of stuff and hate shopping
>paying for free shipping
If you're paying for free shipping then it's not free shipping
>>53933578
At the risk of sounding like a shill, I did the trial and had no troubles cancelling before the billing date.
That said, about a week later I signed up for it in earnest. I sat down and did some quick math and realized that with as much crap as I buy from them, it was worth it about threefold.
YMMV.
>>53936300
obviously it's not free shipping, but there are other benefits that when combined with expedited shipping on every order make it worth it to some people (like me):
- prime video
- free same day shipping (i live in nyc, not sure if it's available widely)
- credits when you choose "no rush shipping" = free ebooks, waived fees for amazon pantry
- unlimited photo storage (i dont use this, but others might find it handy)
>not getting free prime from a family member
I've had Prime since 2008 and haven't paid a dime for it. I swear CS treats you better too. I've gotten tons of discounts and free stuff because of random delays or small dings in the packaging.
I've had student prime ($50 a year, not $100) for a few years now, and it's fucking awesome. But it's only worth it if you buy a ton of shit. They've also recently enabled 20% discounts on new video games (pre-order to two weeks out; I believe this is to compete with Best Buy). Plus there are discounts exclusive to Prime members scattered around the site.
But again, it's only worth it if you use Amazon a LOT.
