Year of AMD?
Intel is finished
The single thread speed of Zen will be the same shit as Excavator. The 40% IPC only refeers to the extra multi-thread speed gained by using independent cores with hyperthreading now instead of modules.
this slide has been out for months
still waiting for real-world application and third part benches instead of stuff that comes straight from amd
remember when the 290x was rumored as the titan killer but didn't actually beat the titan flat out until six months later with driver optimizations? yeah...
excited for smt though
More excited for zen+ though, 40% IPC over Exca will put it in Haswell territory, another 15% over that and it's passing Skylel
Still will be shit in games, games use Intel Architecture and are made for that, nobody codes for AMD architecture so games will still be noticably slower on AMD

Leave it to a r*tard to contradict himself in his own claim.
It's in the interest of everyone who cares about computing for Intel to be first and dominate, if Intel gets less money for R&D their already small improvements each year will get even lower.
>>53930622
This IMO, if AMD wins we'll only get shittier advancements
How the fuck is this graph supposed to represent a 40% increase?
Not only is there no vertical axis, it doesn't even proportionally show a 40% difference between the two values.
>>53930622
Kill yourself intelshill. Monopoly is only ever good for the people holding the monopoly, period.
>skylel
>socket for a maximum of 4 cores
>zen will probably have 4 cores/8 threads or more for half the price, probably 6 since its pretty much standard for amd, upgradable to zen+, which will take a slice of the big fat server pie
>new price/performance king gpu architecture that will btfo nvidia due to better performance and more power efficiency, also less jewish tricks
>stock is rising, new multibillion deal with intel to share igpu tech
Feels good

Ever heard of Bulldozer?
I wish AMD would actually be competitive for once. I still have no real reason to upgrade from LGA1366.
>>53930764
Is this supposed to be a joke?
Are you joking right now?
I want a reason to upgrade my i3 2120 and not having to worry about my mobo being useless in a year.
>>53930605
i'm pro amd
but this slide is fucking dumb and you all know it
>>53930590
best post of the year?
>>53930852
Why have an i3 in that time when the phenom II x6 had been out for like 8 months prior to it? If I didn't find a good deal on an 8350 + mobo, I'd still have the Phenom II x4 965 BE while waiting for the new ones coming out later this year.
>>53930883
iono what you mean
i'm just saying that amd's 'projected performance' slides have literally never matched their real-world application, in both their cpus and gpus.
wait until it's out, benched properly from a non-bias review site like tomshardware or anandtech, and other people have it and can test quality control before you even consider it.
if it manages to be as good as amd claims it is, i'm selling my golden haslel 4790k chip and moving back to amd.
>>53930513
Fuck GPUposting. Literally ruins /g/.
What's with all of you consumerist newfags who rave over 0,5fps differences? What's with all the AMD / Nvidia shilling?
Why? Is it because you're /v/ crossboarders and want the most optimised gayming build?
"HAHA LE X IS FINISHED AND BANKRUPT WAAAAAH"
can't wait to get a zen. Gonna make some juicy steak on that shit.
>>53931012
Must be your first season on /g/.
>>53931006
It doesn't matter. There's a 5x increase in the rate then there was in the 3 years prior.
>>53931027
It's not. It's been getting more and more common since 2015, and I'm tired of it.
>>53931029
But I enjoy my 5% Intel increase more.
>>53931032
The fuck are you smoking? I've been coming here since before bulldozer was released, and it's always been the same.
>>53931068
You're blind if you think gpu intel vs nvidia vs AMd dick contests haven't dramatically increased since last year.
>>53931082
You must have terribly memory if you think they have.
>>53931086
This isn't going anywhere. Keep denying, anyway. Maybe the "The company I support is BETTER than the company you support" dick contests will end one day.
>>53930903
The i3 was 100 bucks and better for gaming, wich was the reason I built this shit then.

AMD IS FINISHED
AMD better start out rolling out dem smart fridge and toilet processors because it flopped in the personal computer cpu market (could use the heat to warm the toilet seats tbqh)

They are not sharing iGPU tech, they are only paying for patent licenses in the making of GPUs.
>>53930602
This has to be bait. It just has to be. No one is this fucking retarded.
Are they?
>>53930823
>>53934296
Not him, but this is true.
>>53930513
Oh lawdy lawdy
AMD tries the same shit as Nvidia.
Real world tests will prove that Zen, Pascal etc... will only give the normal performance increase we have seen before and not the revolution they are shilling about.
>>53930614
Got the spurdo one?
>>53930602
Multithreading / Hyperthreading is how intel work already. Zen will make AMD have the same performance of a intel
>>53934597
It actually is kind of true.
Basically the Intel compilers produce executables that check your CPUID and if it says AuthenticAMD instead of GenuineIntel, they'll turn off optimizations and make all programs run slower.
There are various hacks out there that can patch this on the fly, and they can give pretty serious performance boosts.
And before you ask, the reason why people don't just use a different compilar is because the Intel ones are by far the best ones out there.
>>53930513
Doesn't matter, regardless of the corporations, all utterly corrupted and failed.
