Just bought one of these. Still no regrets for some reason.

Just bought one of these.

Still no regrets for some reason. I think it's the tacky green case; nearly creamed my pants just looking at it.

Should be fun to play with too despite it being overpriced, like, seriously. Probably would get better value for money playing roulette at the casino.
>>
>>53914699
How much did it cost OP?
>>
>>53914722
300USD plus postage.
>>
Is it capable of any processing? I feel like you wouldn't be able to do much with it

what the fuck why didn't you just buy a chromebook
>>
>>53914736
For basic stuff like youtubing and general browsing, it's acceptable, but yeah, it's pretty pathetic power-wise.
>>
>>53914736
it's a raspberry pi, what do you expect?
even when rbpi was brand new and fresh it's arm chip was underpowered for anything other than basic tasks
>>
>>53914699
I wanted to use this with my MIPS SBC but the board's too big

>>53914748
Pretty self explanatory, isn't it?

Chromebooks don't have GPIO and don't look nearly as delightfully tacky.
>>
I don't see the point.

If it had something like an integrated breadboard with its exposed GPIOs it would have been great little portable hardware prototyping device.
But like this, it's basically just like any other laptop, only worse.
>>
>>53914762
Thanks for the (you)

:^)
>>
>>53914775
you have to yake it out of that case to use the gpio, right?
anyway, toshiba chromebook 2 with a 1080p screen is like £270 and then buy a pi for £30
you fucked up

I want it for its easily accessible pins.
It could make a great portable serial/i2c debug device.

Everyone has 300bucks eurupees sheckels to spent but no one buys overpriced hipster shit like this. For what purpose did you get and you can't tell me it's because of the appearance. It looks like it's painted with a text marker.

Their other product is way more reasonably priced and frankly more suited to what you might be using a pi for

I almost want one of these

To use as a conversation starter at starbucks.

Honestly? I bought it because I actually like the tacky look of the thing.
I have come up with reasons to justify it, namely:
>I figure I can upgrade the brains in the thing as the technology advances, one way or another
>I want to see if I can get a compute stick to work in it
>I do need a new throwaround laptop that nobody will want to steal
>I might check out CEED universe, which supposedly teaches you stuff in a fun way

Got a Motorola Lapdock (used but like new) and combined it with the Raspberry Pi.
Works fucking great.
And even with some cables that are needed and a case i only payed around $150.

I hope you start to regret your purchase OP.

Pic slightly related.
>>
>>53916333
I might consider it if it were green.
>>
>>53916333
I've done this, but I have a slightly different model that has a usb soundcard instead of hdmi audio. Upshot is that audio decoding is not accelerated.

You should have bought a lapdock 500 and put the pi in a case on it.
