I hate to be a nuisance but I've tried just about everything I can to connect: configuring the settings, using custom bridges, but to no avail. All of the connections die out and the log lists a bunch of failures to connect to the proxy client. Any ideas?
Use a proxy. Your school may or may not block public proxies like the ones you find on lists online. They won't block private proxies. You can host it from your home/friend's internet connection, or pay for a cheap VPN service to get around this. Just remember they can still get you for this if they said that you can't use proxies on campus and would terminate your classes due to it, they would have to find out first.
