Interested in this bread
I'm using the case in OP, and it's a bit too toasty for my liking.
Would like an ITX case with good height for cpu heatsink cooling + will take full size ATX power supply, would pic related be good?

I mean, it really depends on how big you want your cooler to be, or did you plan on watercooling?

Using the matx version and it's good man, only issue with the itx is the 80mm fans

Fractal Design R4/R5. Amazing value.
>>
>>53904996
I hear it's pretty cheaply made, though. It's what, $40? You get what you pay for.
>>
I just bought a NZXT Noctis 450 I wanted plenty of air cooling, plenty of Hard Drive racks and big enough to hold a 320mn GPU, was there something better at the same price ranger?

Everything else was more expensive or had to remove lots of Hard drive racks to fit the GPU, with this one just have to sacrifice one.

sg13 confirmed for looking like toaster.

that case is ok tho. a little on the bigger side, but decent flow. are you wanting to stay as small as possible? The Fractal Design Nano seems pretty sweet too.

Cheers for replies, would like to go fairly small, I'm not experienced with watercooling so would like to avoid that for now, have a few parts from a previous to use.
Didn't know about the Nano, looking at it now, looks very much what I'm going for, thanks m80.
>>
>>53905684
yeah, that'll be my next case too. Coming from an air 240 I think it'll be nice in the size department.
>>
Just get a Fractal Designs Core 500. That case has such shit cooling and is so cramped. Yeah the Core 500 is a bit bigger, but it still fits in a cabinet if you must have a small HTPC build. Plus you can use non-reference cards that are a bit longer and have no worries, because let's be honest: reference cards are shit.

Just bought a Nano, waiting for my itx board to arrive.
It's perfect for me, because all I wanted from a case was something smaller than mATX that would fit all my radiators, and until the Nato, all itx cases were focused on being as small as possible, rather than still capable, and just a fair bit smaller than mATX cases.

If the thread is "sexy ITX cases" I'd go for this one. Got one myself from a guy on Craigslist. Most beautiful case/mobo/psu combo ever. Using it as my HTPC. Been on the verge of turning it into my main rig on several occasions
but I'd be missing my 240mm liquid cooler as well as my Crossfire setup.

Still it's sexy as hell and goes together well. Only downside is you're pretty limited on the CPU cooler, has like 85mm of clearance as I recall. I used my 4690k's stock cooler because well, it werks, and i've been too lazy to fully strip it and put something else in

The Metis is the absolute undisputed God case

But you'll have to actually know what you're doing to build a high end rig in it and have good temps
>>
>>53909077
The Nano S is incredibly nice. Probably what most ITX people want. Not the smallest, but lots of options, easy to build in, silent.

People who want the console form factor should probably get the ML08B-H or RVZ01

People who want a beautiful, absolutely as small as possible, aluminum, minimal, beautiful PC should get a Metis, if they have a good understanding of its airflow and special considerations, otherwise they will have a housefire
>>
>>53908233
A lot of people do, and if you don't you have about a thousand options of tiny ITX cases, however this is pretty much the only ITX case that supports water cooling well.
It's not a waste, it's just filling a different use case than every other ITX case on the market.
>>
>>53911395
except it has one of the worst thermal performances for a mitx cases.
>>
>>53911495
Not if you aren't retarded

It can stay normally cool, even with high end components, but you have to understand how to arrange the parts and what to pick
>>
>>53911525
you can polish a turd all you want but rvz01/ftz01 will get better thermal performance while retaining the same volume and having a smaller footprint.
>>
>>53911602
I quite like the RVZ01 and other similar cases, like the node 202, ml08b, etc.

But I massively prefer the Metis. Beautiful, minimal aluminum look, space for a 3.5" HDD, absolutely incredibly tiny, lots of space on the walls for sound dampening foam, etc.

It can have better temps than those cases as well, but you have to make certain allowances

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YW4JFT

ATX Compact PSU (not SFX as is popular) to fit a hybrid type GPU. Intake through the radiator, slim form factor heatsink (you can actually fit much larger heatsinks in this configuration but I happen to like this one), exhaust through the front bottom. Place the HDD over the GPU, and more things elsewhere if you'd like. Soundproof it if you want.

This is the ITX dream
>>
>>53911696
you realize that the ncase m1 is even smaller and has significantly better layout/design, right? of course you have pay a premium for it, but it's an all around better case.

metis is fine as far as budget cases go but far from perfect. i was recently looking for a mitx case and settled on the ftz01 as it was the best choice in terms of looks (i wanted minimalist looks,) allowing full length cards, thermal performance, and price. the way i see it the next step up would be the ncase m1, but it would cost me more than double than what i got the ftz01 for ($100).
>>
>>53911395
I actually had a huge toss up between the Metis and the SG13B. I ended up going with the later because I knew that my 980ti would fit. Would you say there is enough room in there for one?
>>
>>53911783
>you realize that the ncase m1 is even smaller

No, it is not.
It's also overpriced as fuck.

>>53911787
Almost definitely not. A 980ti needs the SG13B's length. Your 980ti is probably also air cooled, which is not ideal for the Metis.
>>
>>53911842
Well shit, I picked well then.
>>
>>53911842
What are the specs of your Metis?
>>
>>53911842
last i checked 13.36 liters (metis) is greater than 12.6 liters (ncase m1.)

the price is what it is. it's an enthusiast case. i'm personally not willing to pay it but for balls out SSF builds it is the best case.

I've been enjoying my 250D, plenty of space for my 770 and I have a 240mm H100i in it, but the stiff hoses on the cooler made it a really snug fit.

I like Lian Li cases aesthetically a lot, like the PC-Q08B Aluminum Mini-ITX
>>
>>53908233
Exactly what I was thinking.

The Nano is just too fucking long. The height is perfect for an ITX tower, but that fucking length killed it for me.
>>
Elite 110
>>
I have a mid tower and I want a smaller case with good airflow and space for full sized gpu, psu and 2hdd + ssd. The evolv itx seems perfect for me as it's not too small but not too big.
What do you guys think?
>>
>>53904996

Corsair Carbide Air 240
Perfect space for 2x 980Ti's, full custom watercooled loop with 2x 240mm Rads and lots of SSD's.

Pic somewhat related, will add a second card later becuse it doesnt seem like Pascal will be good until mid next year.
>>
Probably "SG13B" is a pretty boring name.
>>
>>53916137
Doesn't look like there's enough room for two GPUs and a rad on the bottom.
>>
>>53916386
The second rad is in the room on the other side together with the pump, PSU, SSD's etc...

There is more than plenty of space for another GPU with a waterblock.
>>
>>53916433
You have to mod the case to do that though, right? There's no mounts or ventilation holes for a rad on the right side.
>>
>>53916469

You'll hjave to mod the case yes, but there is possible to put both 240mm rads in the front. One in the top part and one in the front, but that require some work with the tubing.

I put the second one in the back to make the front cleaner looking.
