>>53906304
You interact with your peripherals directly on a daily basis.

You use your CPU indirectly and rarely. I don't see why you would ever prefer a CPU upgrade over a peripheral upgrade.

The latter has a much more direct impact on your computing experience.

I'm on an i7 3770 and it shows no signs of needing an upgrade even remotely soon.

As for peripherals, I think the most important peripheral to focus on is your monitor. Why are you still using a piece of shit monitor?

What resources do you use to better understand what to look for in a mouse?

I'm looking into buying a new one, my acer is 5 years old and dying on me.

Any advice will help, don't know where to start.

If you want to be autistic about performance, read the overclock.net mouse forum for a while.

Otherwise, just buy one based on your preferences: shape > weight > features.

Steelseries Sensei on a Steelseries DEX pad (Not my picture, but similar)

The mouse developed a skipping mousewheel issue after some short usage. This is a common issue with Senseis and in many other mice - notably Roccat.

I bought some replacement skates, popped the mouse open and flushed the mousewheel mechanism with cleaning alcohol using a cotton-bud (qtip in the US).

Sick mouse, but in hindsight I think I would've bought a QPad 5K or 8K (Laser) if I'd known about them. I use it for CS.

It's my first decent mouse so I had no idea that 303 was way better, but at least this one is basically the cheaper version of it.

Overall quite a good mouse. The fancy lighting and stuff can be turned off or customised.
>>
>>53908563
What do you think of the DEX?

It's a little bit too small for me to use with my gaming station at home, but might be nice to use for work since it is pretty subtle.
>>
>>53908624
It is a small pad for the low DPI requirements of CS. You can't exactly throw your hand about. But then I don't have a huge desk, and it fits perfectly edge-to-edge with my keyboard next to it. If I had a bigger desk, I'd get a big QCK.

The DEX is of a VERY high build quality, highest I've ever seen in a mousepad. The silicone grip slips a little on my glass surface when I really tug at it, but it grips good enough for panic flicks when you're ganked. When they say you can machine wash it without it's edges threading, they are not wrong.

>H-how do you know I'm on a shitty monitor?
I guessed. Statistically, you are.

>What would you recommend for something around 250-300?
Nothing. I'd recommend spending more on your monitor. Your monitor is arguably more important than your PC. You interact with it directly, all day long, every single day.

All of your online interactions, all of your games, all of your movies, etc.; everything goes through your monitor. Why not give it some respect?

The monitor is the most expensive thing by far in my entire setup.

On my second Rival. Actually RMA'd my old one because the side rubbers got worn off and they sent me back a new Rival 300.

Steelseries actually changed a few things and it wasn't only a renaming tactic. The side rubbers are better in 300, mouse buttons have better click and it has slightly higher profile.

As for why I am using it, it fits my hand better than Deathadder and I don't have to bother with utter shit drivers as it was the case with Razer.

Your hands must be dinner plates. I have larger hands and my EC2A fits perfectly.
The switches are decent so wrong. The only thing i'll agree with is the scroll wheel is shit.
You are just a razer shill
>>
>>53919158
Negative accel is not because of 8-bit data path you nigger
Its the sensor itself sadly, but other than low dpi, that NO ONE NEEDS. and lower PCS, its the best sensor by miles still.

>>53919212
they really arent, i have small..ish hands.. glove size is actually small
18.5cm long 8-8.5cm wide

ec2 was way too tiny for me

sadly the ec1 was also too small, no room on the right side for pinky and ring finger..

Disagree with everything you said but if you indeed got them for $5 at clearance at some store that didn't know what they had, you can easily put them on ebay for $30-40 each. Just make sure they are the 1.1a or the WMO and not the older "intellimouse" which is nothing special.

I did the same thing. The 502 is a great mouse, but the shape gave me cramps in my right click finger, and it was too heavy for low sense gaming, so I got the 303.

I gave the 502 to my dad to replace his beat up old Razer, and he loves it, since he uses like 3200dpi.

Purchased this bb here bcuz the city i lived cared a shit about gamer peripheals and was the only decent thing at that time. Supreme price/quality ratio, only had to change the cable because it rotated on itself and broke only because it had a shit tier braid, changed for a normal usb cable and shit is cash for another 5 years. Also perfect fit for my huge hands, razer only dream to be this big, 10/10 would purchase again.

I've been using a g600 for over a year now. I don't use all the buttons but they are there if I need them and compared to the naga you can better feel each one. There is also a ring finger button that I don't really ever use.
>>
>>53924070

seriously why havent anyone made an IME 3.0 clone with the ADNS 3360 sensor yet?

>>
>>53924245
I personally fingertip grip it, so size is not a problem for me.
It is a little bit heavy, but that's really about it.
>>
>>53924321
Wish i did that

I dont even have large hands.. 18.5CM long. 8.5 wide

Anything less than IME 3.0 craps my pinky and ring finger together for example

And i dont even fully palm it, i dont fucking understand this shit
>>
>>53918539
Can I buy one from you if you're not using it in the first place?
>>
>>53924346
My hands are pretty huge, so I'm kinda forced to fingertip everything since I can't palm most mice without my fingers overhanging the front of the buttons.
I use 1600DPI (really 3200x0.5), which is pretty high, so I basically use my fingers to make the mouse movements instead of my wrist/arm since they're better suited to really fine movements.

Anker CG100 seems to have been sold out for a month now, but I bought it back when it was $40, and according to camelcamelcamel it was $30 during 2015.

It is an inexpensive no-BS mouse with a 8200 dpi sensor. (You do have to install this thing to disable the logo light and set toggleable profiles.) I love this thing.

I promise you, once you go to this mouse, you will never go back to a standard "move your entire arm to move a small cursor on the screen" mouse.

I've been using computers since I was 5 (am 27 now) and this mouse causes me no strain at all. I recommend you put the mouse sensitivity up when you purchase it and get use to fluid, fast, ergonomic pointing.

The feature is being able to adjust your DPI *without* needing to install shitty manufacturer drivers.

As a Linux user who values free software, I'd very much pay a premium to have this.

I mean look at the alternative: Logicrap / Razertech mice that don't even let you adjust the DPI *at all*.
