FFMpeg has a parametric eq, though it might not be exactly what you want, but your parametric eq probably runs fine on wine

Meant a system-wide one, like EqAPO for Windows.

I don't think running it on wine will affect a YouTube video playing on Firefox for example.

1. Windows 10 for vidya, Linux Mint 17 for everything else.
2. Bills do not get paid if left alone, so yes.

You can use any LADSPA plugin with ALSA
>>53904275
WhatsApp is obviously backdoored
The Signal protocol is unbreakable, unless the NSA made some massive breakthrough, but it's pretty obvious that a closed source messaging app owned by Facebook is going to be backdorred

They claim it encrypts every message with a different key which sounds pretty suspect when it actually comes to security, this would mean there is a lot of key handshaking going on and the key generation must be short, or it would impede the message delivery time.
>>
>>53904490
They got faggot marlinspike to integrate the signal protocol into WhatsApp, it's based on OTR with a few improvements, and it's audited
I wonder how will this change WhatsApp score in the EFF Scorecard

I certainly participate in the capitalist society while finding most of its ideas abhorrent ... guess that's a Y.

N, there is no 100% security.

I'm sure the NSA is going to enjoy those "improvements" quite a bit.

We really need Tox to stop sucking up so much resources on mobile, then we won't need stupid threads like this anymore.
>>
>>53904648
It's audited senpai, by multiple organizations
>>
>>53904743
An audit on proprietary code means nothing to me. For all we know they paid some company off.
>>
>>53904788
The Signal protocol, not WhatsApp you dumb fuckwit, lrn2read
There's a FOSS messenger that uses it, Signal, it has been audited too and it's what you should be using, the only shitty thing about it it's that the dev, faggot marlinspike, hates F-Droid and likes to rely on Google Push Messaging
Some guys have forked it to use websocket and not Google Push Messaging, but it's still in alpha

Arch Linux with Gnome3

No the increasing pressure for efficiency makes human beings only worth their productivity. The helping Hand of the free market crushes the environment and exploits the 3rd world. People express themselbes through products and depression is increasing. Socialism with a lot of reforms in the way rosa luxembourg described it is the way.
I am a socialist.

I never said WhatsApp is secure, but the Signal protocol, if you could read past the first three words you would had noticed, I explicitly said that WhatsApp is obviously backdoored
Are people from Reddit nowadays?
>>53904920
There's no good decentralized messenger, much less one that is audited and maintained by competent people

Capitalist: No
Will whatsapp be secure against all third parties: dunno, it's not so open that it can be vetted but it'll spring up in the news eventually if they're backdooring.

I use Tox and it's perfectly fine as long as you don't use mobile too much. The same shills who are claiming whatsapp is "secure" because signal was audited will claim Tox is insecure because it hasn't been audited, but no one has ever found any security flaws in it even with the never ending stream of trolls and shills.

Anything is better than proprietary/centralized shit.
>>
>>53905214
We all know how shitty Tox development is anon, you can't trust Tox until it is audited
No one has claimed WhatsApp is secure
>>
>>53905243
>We all know how shitty Tox development is anon
What are you talking about? The code side of things has always been clean and they have a professionally written protocol spec. Yes, an audit would be nice, and I wouldn't use it if my life was at risk, but it's still far better than the alternatives that are more likely than not compromised on a basic level.
