You really think that? I have the exact opposite experience. Everyone is too scared to cause damage to their image/reputation. HN is pretty much one big social justice hivemind.
There is at least a good number of non SJW on HN. Not many post using their real account or real name because no one wants to be harassed by a twitter brigade. Look at the LambdaConf posts, most people are supporting their decision to keep one of their speakers.
