Will you upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04?
I think I'll stick with the 14.04 for a while.
I have no reason to upgrade (I think...).
You know: "it just werks".
How about you?
>>53895976
Also - if you won't upgrade: why?
Maybe because systemd?

Another problem might be the lack of AMD Catalyst's support.
I wonder how many people are going to be affected.
>>53896045
I don't think that problem will be longer than a few weeks...
>>53896389
What do you mean?

>Will you upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04?
Obviously, 14.04's getting old af.
>>53896681
I don't think there's a significant difference, really...
>>53895976
Coming from 15.10, should i wait ?
>>53896708
what for
I just barely finished downloading 15.10 mini to switch from Debian and its fiasco with xscreensaver. I suppose I'll wait a bit to get 16.04.
>>53896644
Catalyst is deprecated and amdgpu pro is releasing beta builds. Release is supposed to be june-ish
Already on xenial development. It's like jessie, but updated; like stretch, but not crashy. 9/10. If you don't like systemd, pick another distro, plenty to choose from. I use it in production on servers and I do.
If you're on wily (15.10) or God forbid 14.10, definitely upgrade, I would say. If you're on trusty (14.04) think about it, and if you're not tied to proprietary firmware/drivers/software that might break or upstart (==worse than systemd in every way), consider switching.
I've got a server still running precise. That's getting replaced.

What do you think about desktop? I am currently on 15.10. Should I upgrade to 16.04 ?
Also will I need to format my partition to install 16.04 or its possible to upgrade from 15.10 without deleting my files?
>>53897052
Unless AMDGPU works with GCN 1.0 cards, it'll be a problem still. Right now it doesn't.
>>53897052
Thanks for the info!
>>53897360
Screenfetch maybe?
>>53897690
no scrot
>>53897360
How do you use this browser?
Why are you making it harder without home, bookmarks and back buttons?
>>53895976
Definitely. My laptops touchpad has no drivers for 14.04 so no scrolling for me on anything older than 14.10.
Who /lts4lyf/ here?
>>53897052
nice try mr shillbot, but they ain't supporting shit.
amd and nvidia gpus for linux absolute dogshit.
you cannot have a free system and open source system if you look at it with closed source drivers.
>implying the amd driver will work, ever. crimson doesn't even work
>upgrade
:^)
>>53899881
Maybe it has some sort of context menu. Like in Firefox, you can access forward, back, refresh with a right-click.

With shortcuts
I wish zfs worked with root from the get-go on 16.04
>>53899974
You can use Alt+back/forward to navigate. Ctrl-J opens downloads. Ctrl-D is bookmarks. I don't modify my browser, but I still know these commands.
>>53895976
I upgraded from 12.04 (precise) to 14.04 (trusty) only because support for Chrome ended for precise in March. Trusty is much better than precise and I believe xenial is even much better but I'm not going to replace it soon.
>>53899991
They're working on it; https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1527727
>xenial
What will they do after z?
>>53902182
There's a bunch of the early alphabet letters they skipped, so it'll probably just loop around.
I'll stick with 15.10 until support ends
Same here, everything just werks (using 14.04.5) i'm waiting a month for patches to fix potential problems.
>>53895976
I already have.
