I have an ipod touch 4th gen, 64gb, on 6.1.6 that's super old and I forgot about. I wanted to use it but itunes is a hellish thing that shouldn't exist. I remember something about flashing a custom rom into it or jailbreaking it, but don't remember the name, I scrounged up rockbox, which is a player, but can't find the ipod touch in manuals section. I just need a general direction on what to do. Should I jailbreak it?

How serious are RAM manufactures about their lifetime warranties? Is it just a meme or will they actually honor it? Let us say that in 50 years, I demand a replacement for an old SDRAM module. Just learned that OEM basically means the barebones product and no cables. Any reason why OEM HDDs are more expensive ($59) then the retail ones ($49)? Dawned upon me that I bought the former months ago and wondering why it came in some generic cardboard box.
>>
>>53894471
Lifetime usually means like 4-5 years, like "lifetime" sentence in prison. Its not a humans-life-time...
>>
>>53894471
"Lifetime warranty" pretty much always refers to the lifetime of the product. So if they don't make it anymore, they won't replace it.

Though I have heard of people bringing 50 year old tools in and having them replaced with newer stuff so I guess it depends on if they want to honor it. But I don't think they have to. And anyway 50 years from now I doubt today's RAM will be very useful.

>>53894496
Sometimes it's sold by a different vendor, or they simply have a greater supply of the non-OEM version so discounted it to sell some stock off. For example I bought some outdoor lights on Amazon a few weeks back that sold a pack of 2 for $10 or a pack of 6 for $50, obviously they had a lot of the 2-packs they wanted to get rid of or something.

Should've paid more attention. Would've preferred that the drive come with its own SATA cable. Motherboards come with those, right? Afraid of having to buy a third party one only to discover after the fact that it won't fit or not the right speed.

I'm trying to set up a virtualized windows machine with GPU passthrough.

I have two PCIe GPUs and want to use one for the ost and the other for the vm.

How do I get the host to use the GPU it doesn't pick by default?

Both GPUs are nVidia and I'm using nouveau drivers.
>>
>>53894688
>Both GPUs are nVidia
That means you probably can't do what you're trying, assuming they're home vidya models and expensive workstation ones.
>>
>>53894458
I'm pretty sure you can't dual screen from integrated graphics and an add-on card.

both should have been plugged into the graphics card to begin with.
>>
>>53894673
SATA cables should fit universally. As far as speed, I don't know if the cables are actually different between SATA 2/3/etc, but even if they are I am pretty sure it will be backwards compatible so just get the newer cable and you should be fine.

Enable the option in the BIOS and you can use the integrated intel graphics with a discrete card for multi-monitor. I considered doing that with >>53894688 and will prbably need to look into it again.
>>
>>53894724
>pay attention to the connector angle.
That's what I'm afraid of. I haven't actually opened any of the boxes yet. Waiting until the last two are purchased (case and GPU*) before I open everything up. Of course, this means I don't know which angle the WD drive accepts. Turns out the motherboard I got comes with 4 SATA III cables. No idea what angle those are.

*I'm on a budget, so is 950 or 960 viable for someone who isn't into many a game past 2013 or so. Not exactly looking to max the likes of Fallout 4 and GTA V (let alone play them).

So I saw a post about fizzbuzz and I implemented it in thirty ish seconds in python, however I don't know if I fucked up on the optimisation. What's the best way to do fizzbuzz in python? Also, where in the code have I made unforgivable mistakes?

x = raw_input("Which number do I start from: ")
x = int(x)
end = x + int(raw_input("How many loops?: "))
if(end > 0):
while(x <= end):
docalc3 = x / float(3)
docalc5 = x / float(5)
#print docalc3
#print docalc5
isbyfive = 0
isbythree = 0
if(int(docalc5) == docalc5 and int(docalc3) != docalc3):
print("buzz")
elif(int(docalc3) == docalc3 and int(docalc5) != docalc5):
print ("fizz")
elif(int(docalc3) == docalc3 and int(docalc5) == docalc5):
print ("fizzBuzz")
else:
print x
x+=1

I'm fairly new to this, so any tips would be appreciated.

What are the cheapest laptops with 1920x1080 IPS displays?

LED is just a type of LCD monitor. LED LCD monitors use an LED backlight instead of a CCFL backlight. They're both LCD.

I suppose cheap means no IPS, if Microcenter's selection is anything to go by. Acer's cheapest 1080p IPS monitor is around $130, possibly higher with tax included. Rather not stick with the over half a decade old 720p TV for longer then I need to.

>>53895075
int(docalc5) == docalc5

This is not really the best approach. For one thing, floats can have small inaccuracies (you may end up with docalc3 = 3.000000000001 for example, which is != int(docalc3)). It wouldn't really occur in the context of what you've written here, but it still seems like a bad practice.

Rather than dividing x into 3 or 5 and checking to see if the result is a whole number through a cast, you can use the modulus (%) operator.

x%3 will give you the remainder of dividing x into 3. 6%3=0, 7%3=1, etc. Try rewriting your code with modulus.

>>53896221

What do you have currently? and the base style of the game in order to help you?
>>
>>53896229
Just a simple platformer; collect items, advance to next level via door.

Besides non moving enemies (can't get em to move), music and a timer I'm out of ideas.

groovy thanks for the cereal reply
I do know html css and i want it to be able to be posted so other people can see it, ill try what you said
>>
>>53896241

have you a github with your code? I can look into why they won't move for you if you want?

Other than that you could implement shortcuts within your plat-former, alternative ways of gaining points, or just more complex levels to increase play-ability?

Other than that I don't know what else is normally incorporated into a platfformer!

Dear /sqt/.

When I reported bug that made one game I bought to the devs, they asked for MSInfo file along with DxDiag.

Im fine with adding DxDiag to technical issues emails and such but is it safe to add MSInfo? Doesnt it contain private information?

Im sorry for being so paranoid.
>>
>>53896603
What does it matter? Do you have something to hide? Unless you collect cp or plan on carrying out a terrorist attack there is literally no need to hide your information.
>>
>>53896603
>Doesnt it contain private information?

>Version of Windows and service pack information.
>Computer name, make, and model.
>Computer CPU and speed.
>BIOS version and data.
>Complete hardware resource information including conflicts/sharing, IRQ, DMA, and other resource information.
>Installed drives including the CD-ROM, Hard drive, and other disc/diskette drives.
>Installed sound card and video cards.
>Installed network cards and their associated network addresses and information.
>Other devices such as the keyboard, mouse, and connected USB devices.
>Installed software, drivers, signed drivers, startup programs, and services.

You're fine love.

How do I change keymapping for Mac OS's input method?
In the past 10 years, I don't know how to type my native language into computer. Whenever I need to do so, I can only a.) type it on my phone and then send those text onto computer for copy-pasting, b.) randomly search around internet or randomly use google translate to translate sone phase, hoping ot would generate some characters that I need and then copy and paste, or c.) buy a handwriting pad, ibstall driver, and then draw slowly onto the dedicated program then to copy-paste those characters.
Recently, I walked into a Apple Store, and tried Mac computers there for a bit, and found that the mobile phone input method which I know how to use is now available on Mac OS. By this, I can finally type my native language directly onto my computer. But when I trying around, I found there's something odd for the input method. The input method's key assignment follow the traditional key assignment on mobile phone, however since the computer keypad have row 7/8/9 on top and 1/2/3 to the bottom, which is completely opposite to mobile phones which have 1/2/3 on top and 7/8/9 down to the bottom, the input gesture is difference fron mobile phone even when they kep assignment is same.
Is there any method to reverse the key assignment for the input method in Mac so that it would ergonomically fit the way I get use to on mobile phone? I have already asked staffs in Apple Genius Bar but they have no clue about it.

Posted this in /wsr/ but got no responses:

So a few months ago, I set up a home server that automatically indexes and downloads torrents and then sets them up with right metadata to stream through Plex. It works great for most TV shows an anime but one thing I'd love to be able to automate is Raw and SmackDown, since the Network doesn't put them up until weeks later.

Unfortunately, because both Sonarr and Plex scrape metadata from TheTVDB, which bans all "sports-related programming" from their databases, there's no episode information for Sonarr to search for and download

It there anyway I can get this working? The only workaround I can think of is an RSS feed for my torrent client but I'd still have to manually enter all the metadata.

There are plenty of more constructive and stimulating ways to relax. For example reading, writing, drawing learning an instrument or heaven forbid working out. Videogames are cancerous trash.

I know this is the wrong place, but you guys probably know more real astronomy than /sci/ anyway, so here goes.

I observed Mars and Jupiter this morning and from my as yet unverified outstretched arm calculation they were 5 degrees away from each other.

How can I verify this? I know it was Mars and Jupiter because of a finding application and I'd like to know because that will help me judge what I see on screen versus what I observe in the sky. I can barely see anything due to ambient light and this morning didn't even see Antares, which I have (I think) seen before in the vicinity.

Thank you.
