reminder that this very moment there are underage faggot in this board that never installed doom using floppies

Yes I do, and I remember how shitty and unreliable they were and how they would go bad after just a few years. Also how file sizes took off and they were too small for everything until flash drives took off.

There is no more fun autism than /g/ has regarding the "save icon"

>Call it a floppy
>"...hurr us 90s kids rite"

>Call it "the save icon"
>burning raging psuedo ocean of autism from 20 year old pretending to be 70
>different facet of old people being stingy old bags of salmon from not knowing how to "really" use a typewriter

>Floppy Disquette
>all body parts separate and have jet streams coming out as they exit earth and fly into the sun

Ever met one of those 80 or 90 year olds that will tell you about how they had to type something out 10 times flawlessly with no differences between the copies because they didn't have photocopiers or any easy way to duplicate them, yet still subtly try to pretend to be better than you? You're basically doing this for the 90s now.
>>
>>53892213

I remember every single one of these things
>>
>>53891921
I remember when aol had the free trial ones. Id take a bunch of them, put tape over the hole and then just use on my own. Aol was fucking stupid
>>
>>53891921
Yeah but admittedly they were a bit before my time, never used them.
>>
>>53891921
I think I still have a few of them with my old HS autocad projects on them.

What's with the kids these days and *constantly* acting like they're being looked down on and disrespected all the time?

Dude posted an interesting image showing some information from the mid/late 90s. It didn't make ANY KIND of evaluation or offer any opinion of old vs new tech.

Maybe you should just appreciate that older people had different experiences than you. Some of them were better, most were worse. And chances are they had to execute to a much higher standard on a daily basis due to situations like the one you just gave as an example.

I can appreciate that my mother had to triple check her punch cards for errors before wasting mainframe time. I still "use the compiler for syntax checking", but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate how much harder she had it.

What series is this from, incidentally? I keep seeing pictures from it but I've never found the source.

Obviously the left is John McAfee, but who's that on the right?

Since nostalgia is complete cancer that fools you into thinking shit is gold, how does compounded nostalgia work?

For example

>thing was out in 1997
>Shitty wrong picture was out in 2012? (seen people have nostalgia for even that short time ago)
>it isn't dated but just says "20 years ago" which you always take as 20 years ago from right now
>Well I have nostalgia for this picture even though I didn't really read it

Now that I have waited about 5 minutes, I have nostalgia for the first part of my post, which has compounded on a picture that compounded on the thing. So instead of wanting to jack off to the CPU, I want to jack off to some words and that picture.

>>And chances are they had to execute to a much higher standard
>This means "I'm better than you"

No, you butthurt little faggot, it means, "I got less done but I couldn't make any mistakes".

You think that your clumsy typing in an interactive editor where you can just undo, redo, select, delete, and copy/paste isn't FUNDAMENTALLY more flexible than the example of the person who had to manually type ten flawless copies?

Your pathetic inferiority complex is getting the better of you. You can appreciate others' efforts without belittling yourself, you know.
